Pablo Sandoval has eventful day

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval had an eventful day at the plate Saturday afternoon against the Braves.Sandoval launched a solo home run off starter Paul Maholm in the first. He was also hit by a pitch in the forearm during the fifth. He finished 1 for 3 with two runs scored and one RBI in a 10-1 victory. He underwent X-rays on his forearm, which ruled out a fracture. Manager Bruce Bochy still isn't sure if he'll need a day off Sunday, according to Comcast SportsNet Bay Area. Sandoval has recorded a hit in each of his last five games. He is hitting .263 over that span.

In fact, he's allowed a total of four runs in his last two starts since the debacle in Detroit. CBSSports.com Fantasy — Braves pitcher Paul Maholm got his pitch count up early in his start against the Reds Monday night but had a sharp outing. He allowed two runs on four hits over 5 2/3 innings in a 7-4 win. The left-hander held the Reds scoreless through three innings, but in the fourth he put the first two men on before giving up an RBI double to Brandon Phillips.
