Padres SP Erik Johnson heads to 15-day disabled list with sprained elbow

Prior to last night's game against the Yankees, the Padres announced that another one of their starting pitchers had landed on the disabled list. This time it was right-hander Erik Johnson, who came over to San Diego in the deal that sent James Shields to the White Sox. An MRI exam revealed a right elbow strain for the 26-year-old pitcher. It happened during his start on Tuesday evening against the Orioles, when he was removed from the game after completing five frames.
