Blue Jays: The Tellez/Guerrero Jr. platoon should continue next season

A power-hitting platoon blossomed last season between Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Rowdy Tellez, with a hint of what could be a powerful tandem that should be kept intact next season for the Toronto Blue Jays. Most Blue Jays fans knew that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. would be making the trip across the diamond at some point […] Blue Jays: The Tellez/Guerrero Jr. platoon should continue next season - Jays Journal - Jays Journal - Toronto Blue Jays News, Rumors and Fan Community

Poll Time: Most Pleasant Surprise of the Blue Jays Season

Poll Time: Most Pleasant Surprise of the Blue Jays Season

Photo by Sarah Stier/ I figured we might have some polls talking about the past season. Let’s start with “Most pleasant surprise”. We have some good candidates. Teoscar Hernandez: After hitting .230/.306/.472 with 26 home runs, last year, he hit .289/.340/.579 with 16 home runs in 50 games. It was a continuation of his great second half of 2019, when he hit .259/.346/.592 with 18 home runs in 62 games. But I’m not sure any of us expected him to be this good when we came into this season. Rowdy Tellez: After our game on August 9th, he was hitting a big .143/.244/.257. After...

Jays Playoff Roster

Jays Playoff Roster

Photo by Timothy T Ludwig/ The Blue Jays announced their playoff roster. The surprises, to me? Anthony Kay is on. I guess they wanted another lefty. No Jordan Romano. And Rowdy Tellez is on. I hope that means he’ll play, not just pinch-hit. Of course, how is his swing, will it take a game or two to get his timing? Reese McGuire was picked over Caleb Joseph. Not a surprise, no Tanner Roark, no Shun Yamaguchi. The list: 13 pitchers: Chase Anderson Anthony Bass Ryan Borucki A.J. Cole Rafael Dolis Thomas Hatch Anthony Kay Nate Pearson Robbie Ray Hyun Jin Ryu Matt Shoemaker Ross...

Jays starting pitchers for first round

Rick Madonik/Toronto Star via The Blue Jays announced their starting rotation for the first round of playoffs. Game one: Matt Shoemaker Game two: Hyun Jin Ryu Game three: Taijuan Walker I’d guess the plan is to follow Shoemaker with Ray. Putting Ryu in the middle game gives the team the ability to use Borucki in game 1 and 3. The team also said that they might put Rowdy Tellez on the playoff roster. I’m still doubting but they know better. I do like that they are making a decision without worrying about being second guessed. There is going to be a lot of complaining if this...

As the Toronto Blue Jays prepare for their first postseason action since 2016, they received contrasting news regarding Rowdy Tellez and Jordan Romano’s respective recoveries from injury. With one regular season game remaining, the fifth seed in the American League is still up for grabs for the Toronto Blue Jays. Blue Jays: Rowdy Tellez expected to miss first round of postseason

Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Rowdy Tellez is not expected back in time for the first round of the postseason. According to General Manager Ross Atkins, it appears very unlikely that Rowdy Tellez will be healthy enough to compete in the Blue Jays first round of the postseason. Atkins appeared more confident that Tellez could […] Blue Jays: Rowdy Tellez expected to miss first round of postseason - Jays Journal - Jays Journal - Toronto Blue Jays News, Rumors and Fan Community
