Halos Heaven — The Angels pitching staff brought their "A" game to the White Sox this afternoon. Jason Vargas was almost lights out and struck out Adam Dunn & Co. six times. After Vargas left the game, Dane De La Rosa and Scott Downs followed. To finish out the game, Ernesto Frieri earned his ninth save of the season. The pitching staff remained strong -- five hits, two runs, and seven strikeouts; however, they did deal a total of seven walks (three of which came from Frieri). Scott Downs looks healthy in appearance

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Angels reliever Scott Downs, who has been dealing with a foot injury, was able to get back on the mound Saturday against the White Sox. Downs came on in relief of Jerome Williams in the seventh inning and retired the lone batter he faced. After allowing three runs over his first four appearances, Downs has allowed just one run over his last 12 outings (10 1/3 innings).

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Angels reliever Scott Downs is not expected be to placed on the disabled list after injuring his right foot Thursday against the Astros, MLB.com reports. Manager Mike Scioscia said Downs' foot is "still a little tender." Downs is 0-2 with a 2.96 ERA to go along with eight strikeouts and five walks over 15 appearances (12 1/3 innings).

Scott Downs leaves with right foot injury

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Angels relief pitcher Scott Downs was removed from Thursday's game against the Astros with a right foot injury, MLB.com reports. He recorded one out while allowing two hits in the eighth inning before coming out. Closer Ernesto Frieri entered the game and stranded the tying and go-ahead runs, preventing Downs from being charged with any earned runs.

Scott Downs might go on DL

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Angels relief pitcher Scott Downs might need to be placed on the disabled list after suffering a "freak" rib injury Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles Times. "Scottie's really important to us and we wouldn't want to do a premature DL if he's only going to need four or five days," manager Mike Scioscia told the Times. "But you might have to consider some things." Downs has posted a 3.27 ERA and 1.55 WHIP in 11 innings this season.
