Shawn Camp hid toe injury

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Cubs reliever Shawn Camp has been dealing with a sprained toe for nearly a month, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, but he did not disclose the injury to the team until Sunday, when he first received treatment for it. Camp did not respond well to the treatment, forcing him to be placed on the disabled list Wednesday. Camp had a 7.56 ERA and three blown saves before the injury, and it appears as if he might require a lengthy stay on the DL. He has been told to stay off his foot until the pain and swelling subsides.

The Cubs recalled pitcher Rafael Dolis from Triple-A Iowa to take his place. Camp was treated for the injury over the weekend but pitched on Tuesday, giving up a grand slam to pinch-hitter Travis Snider in the Cubs' 5-4 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Manager Dale Sveum hopes the Camp of last season shows up. Adrian Beltre hits important two-run homer

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre went deep on Tuesday night during a 4-2 win over the Cubs. Beltre homered in the eighth inning off Shawn Camp for his second of the season.  The Rangers needed the HR as Chicago came back in the ninth. Beltre went 2 for 4 in the game and drove in two runs on the two-run shot. He added a double and scored twice. Beltre is batting .245.  The 34-year-old veteran had two extra-base hits on Tuesday and entered the game with only three this season -- two doubles and a homer.
