Tigers' Victor Martinez crushed 3 home runs in 1 game because he's awesome

More like V-Mash! Right guys? Right? Victor Martinez continued his strong campaign with three home runs Thursday night. Let's relive that again: From both sides of the plate, all parts of the park and a whole lot of distance covered. Special shoutout to Fox Sports Detroit analyst Rod Allen for his disdain on the shift in the last home run call. You are correct Rod, you cannot place a fielder out there. Martinez is now hitting .338 with 12 home runs and 38 RBI this year. I think it's safe to say last year was the outlier, and V-Mart is back.

Detroit Tigers Links is staying quiet at the MLB trade deadline

Al Avila has spoken. After a number of active trade deadlines, it appears the Detroit Tigers may have a quiet summer. But blockbusters seem out of the question. "This is the team we are counting on to win," he said before the game Wednesday. "If we have to make a minor move here or there, we will look into it at that point." With regards to the the team as a whole, he noted the payroll and indicated there wouldn't be any major...
