Oakland’s offense so regularly provides late runs in recent days, there was a sense most of Sunday that the A’s hitters were just on the verge of breaking through. As it happened, the team that kept scoring and scoring was Cleveland. The Indians put up eight in the eighth inning, leaving Oakland no real chance to make a late charge.
