Final Score: Cardinals 6, Mets 3-Wheels come off

It went downhill quickly in this one. Zack Wheeler was pitching pretty well until it all fell apart in the sixth inning in the Mets’ 6-3 loss to the Cardinals. Paul DeJong again went deep against the Mets to give the Cardinals the lead. After Adam Wainwright hit a long double to bring home another run, Wheeler’s night was finished. Once Wheeler was out of the game it was the bullpen’s turn to escalate the situation. Josh Edgin walked the only batter he faced, and newly-recalled Hansel Robles threw one pitch before his next one was deposited into the stands for a three-run home run...

The Mets have a chance to climb the Wild Card ladder against the Cardinals

Or just come see the Mets before they’re all gone! The Mets came out like gangbusters on Friday and Saturday night with back-to-back blowouts of Colorado.
