Washington Nationals’ lineup for first of three with San Francisco Giants in D.C.

Anthony Rendon has been scuffling at the plate since the start of August, but the 27-year-old infielder is still second in the NL in fWAR on the season, and Dusty Baker likes how he returns from a day off... Anthony Rendon got a day off in the series finale of the four-game set with the Miami Marlins, though he did come on late as a pinch hitter, flying out to the track in deep left in Nationals Park. Rendon went 0 for 11 overall in three-plus games against the Fish, leaving him with a .300/.406/.553 line, 26 doubles, 21 HRs, 62 walks, and 60 Ks in 431 plate appearances oon the...

SF Giants Minor Lines 8/11/17: Heliot Ramos goes deep again

Nearly a system sweep, though rain washed away more than just the Giants’ game. I’ve been dealing with back spasms for a week and the damn Nationals made me stand on a cement concourse for three hours, waiting for an announcement on a game that had apparently been cancelled long earlier. I’m in a bad mood. Washington Nationals: Fans let down after team botches rain delay

Friday night’s rainout between the Washington Nationals and San Francisco Giants left the fans drenched. Why were communications so poor? The Washington Nationals looked terrible Friday night, and they never took the field. As the Nats, San Francisco Giants and us waited out hours of thunderstorms, Washington did a poor job passing along information in […] Washington Nationals: Fans let down after team botches rain delay - District on Deck - District on Deck - A Washington Nationals Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

Dusty Baker and Bruce Bochy talked about the Bryce Harper vs Hunter Strickland drama and managing against one another as both move up the all-time wins list for managers... Dusty Baker dismissed the idea that San Francisco Giants’ skipper Bruce Bochy had a role in calling for the pitch that started the Hunter Strickland vs Bryce Harper brawl back in late May in AT&T Park. Baker told reporters immediately after that game he thought Strickland was acting on his own. “I’m real close to Bruce. When I lost my job in Cincinnati he was the first one to call wanted to know what happened...”...

Wire Taps: Bryce Harper vs Hunter Strickland narrative returns, unfortunately; Nationals Park rainout drama returns too...

Everyone likes Skittles right... and I learned last night that they are now vegetarian friendly. There was a lot of free time waiting for the Nationals and Giants game to get officially postponed... OMG... Have they announced the postponement yet? They did. Good. OMG... will Bryce Harper and Hunter Strickland have more drama? Everything old is new again, and the Nationals can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to rainouts, even though MLB is responsible for the way last night went because it’s San Francisco’s only trip to D.C. in 2017. Anyway, you can read about all this fun stuff...

Giants’ Hunter Strickland, National’s Bryce Harper over past bad blood

WASHINGTON — Giants manager Bruce Bochy said he wouldn’t hesitate using reliever Hunter Strickland against Bryce Harper this weekend. Strickland said it wouldn’t be an issue facing Harper for the first time since their May 29 brawl in San Francisco. Strickland served a six-game suspension for throwing at Harper in the last series between the teams, and Harper served three games for charging the mound. The incident came three years after Harper screamed at Strickland after hitting a home run in the 2014 NL Division Series. Nationals manager Dusty Baker was asked about possible...
