The Orioles lost again and this dumb season is finally over

The Orioles lost again and this dumb season is finally over

The Orioles closed out their season looking like they did for most of the last month. They lost to the Rays, sealing a last place finish. The 2017 Orioles nightmare is finally over. Here’s hoping they wake up from it before next season. Their lone October game went much like September, with little offense to speak of and pitching that turned out to be bad enough that it wouldn’t have mattered if the offense was any good, anyway. They dropped the finale to the Rays, 6-0. In the end, the Orioles lost the battle to stay out of last place. The Blue Jays beat the Yankees on the season’s...

The last Orioles game thread of 2017

The Orioles have one last game to get through against the Rays before they can head into the offseason and we can stop watching them play badly for a while. My dear Camden Chatters. My dear (here there is a long, rambling list of every Camden Chatter - yes, even you). Also my good lurkers that I welcome back at last to Camden Chat. Today is the one hundred sixty-second game of the season. It is one hundred sixty-two today! I hope you are all enjoying yourselves as much as I am. I shall not keep you long. I have called you all together for a purpose. Indeed, for three purposes! First of all,...

With this loss, the Orioles finish the month of […] Baltimore Orioles: Closing September on a low note - Birds Watcher - Birds Watcher - A Baltimore Orioles Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

Rays 4, Orioles 3: Brad Miller selfishly hits three run homer

Rays 4, Orioles 3: Brad Miller selfishly hits three run homer

Miller homers, Kiermaier steals, Archer racks up 200 innings, DeWayne and BA are unbearable When your club is 79-82, the best thing about the next-to-last game of the season is you get to use the world “penultimate.” Penultimate, penultimate, penultimate. My gosh, that’s a fun word to say. Say it with me: Penultimate! The second best thing about the penultimate game of the season is the realization that you only have one more game to listen to DeWayne and BA ramble on and on (and on, and ooooonnnnnn) about “two-strike approach” before a blessed and sorely needed five month break....

Orioles continue limping towards offseason with 4-3 loss to Rays

Orioles continue limping towards offseason with 4-3 loss to Rays

Miguel Castro was not the cure for what ails the 2017 Orioles rotation. The O’s didn’t score until late and it wasn’t enough, so they lost again to the Rays. The Orioles made things interesting in the eighth and ninth innings, but it was too little, too late as they lost yet another September game. They dropped Saturday’s contest against the Rays, 4-3. That caps a 7-20 month for the Orioles. There is still one more game to play, of course, which they may well lose, the way that they’re playing. They still can’t hit and they still can’t pitch. But hey, at least the Orioles...

Orioles lose, 4-3, to Rays in Miguel Castro's first major league start

One start doesn’t equal a fair evaluation for a pitcher making his first major league start, especially given the scenario in which right-hander Miguel Castro made his starting debut, but the 22-year-old’s performance definitely wasn’t as clean as the polished relief pitching that earned him rotation...
