Nick Piecoro's Dbacks Blog | Arizona Republic — Diamondbacks right-hander Daniel Hudson was named the National League’s Rookie of the Month for August. Hudson had a 1.85 ERA in six starts during the month, striking out 42 in 43 2/3 innings. He allowed just 30 hits -- opponents hit .195 off him -- and he issued only eight walks. Acquired from the Chicago White Sox in the Edwin Jackson trade, Hudson has pitched at least seven innings in each of his six starts with his new club and has allowed two runs or less in six of those starts (he allowed three runs once).
