Major League Soccer announced additional sanctions against San Jose forward Alan Gordon after his conduct in the Portland Timbers - San Jose Earthquakes match on April 14 in Portland. Gordon will be unavailable to San Jose for the next four matches - serving a one match suspension for a red card, and three additional for his tirade on the pitch.

San Jose Earthquakes striker Alan Gordon also gets an undisclosed fine for anti-gay slur.

The San Jose player apologized after the game, saying, "Although I said it in the heat of the moment, that language has no place in our game. That is not my character, but there is still no excuse for saying what I said. I made a mistake and I accept full responsibility for my actions."

If you haven't been paying attention to the 2012 Supporters' Shield Champion San Jose Earthquakes to put it bluntly, they're not in the best physical shape. They started the season with Steven Beitashour, Marvin Chavez, Alan Gordon and Steven Lenhart in the stands thanks to injury. They added Mike Fucito to that list yesterday.
