Chad Marshall just happy to not be paying fines

Sounders center back relieved to have his red card rescinded. TUKWILA, Wash. — Chad Marshall wasn’t sure how to react. After all, the Seattle Sounders center back had only been red carded once before in his 15-year professional career. The situation was some unfamiliar that before referee Baldamero Toledo showed him the red card, Marshall wasn’t even sure his tackle on Johnny Russell was what was under review by the Video Assistant Referee during Saturday’s match, “At the time I didn’t even know that was what was being reviewed,” Marshall told reporters on Thursday. “I was...

Chad Marshall’s red card rescinded

Sounders center back will be eligible to play versus Whitecaps. Schmetzer then went into detail about why the call surprised him, and finished by saying, “I’m pretty confident that that’s going to get overturned.” Marshall’s 81’ red card was only the second of his career....

Seattle Sounders vs. Sporting Kansas City: community player ratings form

Well, that was a weird one. Thanks in part to yet another own goal, this time from Sporting Kansas City’s Graham Zusi, your Seattle Sounders continued their MLS-record win streak. The match also featured a goal from Raul Ruidiaz following a beautiful Brad Smith cross, and a Nicolas Lodeiro penalty to seal things. Oh, and Chad Marshall received a phantom red card. Strange days.
