The Blue Links: April 15th, 2015

SKC look to adjust to life without Ike, RSL are not as fancy as they though, and the Americans are ready to take on Mexico tonight. Well I was having a pretty good day on Monday until I heard the Ike Opara news. But this guy is a fighter and there is no reason to think he won't make ANOTHER comeback. Way to make sure he felt the love SKC Nation: pic.twitter.com/c36W2YgJl5 — Ike Opara (@ikeopara) April 14, 2015 Fall down 7, stand up 8. We're behind you Ike! So what does it mean for the club? Well it means SKC loses their leading goalscorer (lolwut) and perhaps the Defender of the...

Ike Opara out for months with Achilles injury

Ike Opara damaged his Achilles tendon on Saturday; will be out for months if not the season. Sporting Kansas City announced that Ike Opara had suffered a season-ending ankle injury on April 11th 2014.  On Saturday, almost a year to the day, Ike Opara pulled out of a routine header and crumpled to the Sporting Park pitch. It was apparent quickly that the injury was something out of the norm and while most Sporting Kansas City fans were hopeful that reports that he had a calf injury where true that wasn’t the case. Sporting Kansas City today confirmed that Ike Opara suffered an Achilles...

Damien Perrinelle rated second best in MLS

According to WhoScored.com, Damien Perrinelle is off to a fantastic start to the 2015 MLS season. Every week I like to wander over to WhoScored.com just to see who they have in their team of the week. I suppose it isn't too surprising that I found Damien Perrinelle's name in their best XI this week considering he scored a goal and put in a solid defensive effort against DC United. Taking it a step further, I always like to see who they have rated as the best players throughout the season. This leaderboard consists of the highest cumulative match ratings all season. Ike Opara of...

Fantasy MLS: Feilhaber Tops, Opara Flops in Round Five

Sporting Kansas City's Benny Feilhaber topped the points department in round five while FMLS managers who captained Ike Opara were left disappointed. A lot of action came in round five, most notably in Sporting Kansas City's two-goal extra time triumph over the Philadelphia Union in their 3-2 win. A lot of different FMLS transfer and philosophy decisions were either debunked or renewed in that game that included FMLS point leader Ike Opara and the struggling Dom Dwyer. For those that #DaredToOpara and captained him this round, including myself, I hope you're enjoying your two bonus points...

The Blue Links: April 4th, 2015

Everybody likes IKE, Chance Myers and Graham Zusi are cool in any decade, and SKC have cooled off on RVDV. It is so great to see everything finally come together for Ike Opara. The rest of the country is taking notice and the accolades have been pouring in. But I'm just gonna go ahead and say what everyone is thinking... is he an alien? He made MLS Team of the Week 3 out of the 4 weeks this season, and was nominated for Player of the Month (falling short to Octavio Rivero). However, SBI Soccer did name him Player of the Month. Ike then appeared on the SBI Show to discuss his...
