D.C. United's Perry Kitchen makes his USMNT debut in 2-0 win over Panama

D.C. United's other USMNT representative makes his first appearance with the first team, this time the Red, White and Blue come out victorious. Steve Birnbaum and Perry Kitchen were part of Jurgen Klinsmann's January camp and in a mild surprise, Birnbaum got the first start between the two, in the United States' 3-2 loss to Chile. Birnbaum also got a parting gift from the camp with an MCL issue which should keep him out of D.C. United's games in Austin, but he should be set to go against Alajuelense. D.C. United's Steve Birnbaum picks up knee injury during USMNT camp

Birnbaum has a minor knee sprain, which may put his availability for the first leg of United's CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal in question. The just-concluded USMNT camp will largely go down as a positive for D.C. United.
