Poetry Corner Kicks: Union 1 - D.C. United 0

I admit I didn't see this one coming. I absolutely believe Zach Pfeffer should have been on that US U-20 team.  I was quite disappointed when he was left off the list, but I have to say that I am very thankful he was there against D.C. United.  As someone commented on this site, the Philadelphia Union need every able-bodied man out there right now.  And somehow, the Union turned in a performance that no one expected: out-possessing the Eastern Conference leaders, out-passing them, out-shooting them, not allowing a single shot on goal - this was not your average 2015 league game for the...

Pfinally: Pfeffer's goal saves skidding Union

The hometown kid won it late against the Union's I-95 rivals. When United States U-20 Men's National Team Coach Tab Ramos announced his roster for June's U-20 World Cup, Zach Pfeffer was not on it. Ramos left a spot open for dual-national midfielder Gedion Zelalem, who was trying to attain United States eligibility at the time. If FIFA had not cleared Zelalem to play for the U.S., Pfeffer would have traveled to New Zealand in his stead. On Sunday night, the 20-year-old from Dresher, Pennsylvania, put the rejection behind him when he slotted home a goal that gave the Union their first win in...

Pfeffer misses cut for U-20 World Cup Roster

Zach Pfeffer didn't make the cut for the U.S. Under-20 World Cup roster, but Union Academy alumnus Zack Steffen will join the team traveling to New Zealand later this month. Zach Pfeffer missed the cut for the 20-man U.S. Under-20 World Cup roster named by head coach Tab Ramos, but former Union Academy goalkeeper Zack Steffen is one of three goalkeepers on the roster who will travel to New Zealand. Steffen will be appearing in his second U-20 World Cup. He and FC Dallas midfielder Kellyn Acosta become only the 8th ad 9th players to appear on the U.S. roster for two U-20 World Cups/Youth...

Philadelphia Union Weekly Press Conference 4/29/2015

The Philadelphia Union gather once more to speak about the weekly happenings around PPL Park. After a devastating 4-1 to Columbus, the Philadelphia Union invited the media to discuss anything they wanted Union related. The Union are trying the idea of having a player speak to the media first so out stepped the Union Academy poster-child Zach Pfeffer. Zach Pfeffer In reality Zach had nothing to report, much like the rest of his previous counterparts. Questions focused primarily on his time with the U-20s and their successful trip. With a 2-2 draw against Qatar and a 1-0 over Croatia, the...
