5 non-rumor reasons to be excited about the Celtics’ offseason

Forget the rumors for a minute and appreciate the progress we’ve made. Waiting for the next shoe to drop is taking some of the wind out of my sails. So I’m going to distract myself (and hopefully a few of you) by focusing on some other awesome things that have already happened that give me reason to smile this offseason. 1. Al Horford This might be the most overlooked major free agent signing in a long time. We only had moments to appreciate it before we were focused on the Durant sweepstakes and then the "we’re not done" watch. So let’s take a step back and respect the Horford...

Thomas: "bring out the Brinks truck"

Isaiah Thomas is due a large payday in 2018. Will the Celtics be able to afford him? There is no doubt that Isaiah Thomas is now the face of the franchise.  He was their best player on the floor last season and without a doubt, the most important Celtic off the court as well.  Since leading the team to a third place finish in the Eastern Conference and a hard fought series against the Hawks, the first time All Star has represented Boston at the NBA Lottery, helped recruit Kevin Durant, and was a big part in landing Al Horford.  He came to the Celtics for the low low price of Marcus...

Exploring how the Celtics defense can help Al Horford

Al Horford will undoubtedly help the Celtics, but the Celtics can also help Al Horford. In Celtics nation, the buzz about Al Horford is still at full force. As of now, most have written about how he can fit in and help our team. What most have been missing is how exactly the Celtics can help him. For all the great things that Al Horford can do, rebounding has been a real weak point. In the last three years his total rebounding percentage has dropped from 14.8 to 13.4 to 12.4 percent last season. Traditionally, Al Horford has never been a strong rebounder, at best posting an 18% total...
