May 18, 2013philly.com No NBA general manager who wants to get his roster from Point A to Point B ever begins that process by trying to construct a four-team trade.

Liberty Ballers Sean O'Connor It seems as if Andrew Bynum is at least healthy enough to travel in the post, after seeing him get his Flamenco on. So I have two questions: 1.) Where does the dance rank among things that have happened in the Andrew Bynum saga? 2.) Do you agree with Levin's assessment that the Sixers should bring Bynum back, even after all this? Michael Levin 1. Below bowling, above him practicing and not playing again. 2. I don't even know if I agree with Levin's assessment that they should bring him back. Tanner Steidel I can't agree/disagree with anything Mike wrote about Bynum in tha...

Liberty Ballers When the Philadelphia 76ers took their team picture last month, Jason Richardson was nowhere to be found. Of course, very few people noticed and/or cared because Andrew Bynum - both hilariously and appropriately - also happened to be a no-show for the aforementioned photo session. Despite both players' legitimate excuses for their absences (both were rehabbing their surgically-repaired knees), the picture day fiasco (henceforth known as the "Glamour Shots By Deb Incident") fits perfectly into the "Richardson as invisible man" narrative. Not only was the 32-year-old shooting guard lar...

Liberty Ballers I recently watched Identity for the first time. It's 10 years old and not particularly good, so I don't feel any moral obligation to withhold the twist ending from you. All the characters that show up to this abandoned hotel where people start dying in the rain -- they're alternate personalities of this guy pleading insanity on death row. The few intriguing things that do happen are stitched into a quilt of Let-It-Go-It's-In-His-Head-Yeah-That-Guy! plot holes roughly the size of Ray Liotta's huge face. I don't know how you feel about Andrew Bynum. I don't know how Andrew Bynum feels ab...

Orlando Pinstriped Post Three centers switched teams when the Orlando Magic traded Dwight Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers in August. Andrew Bynum went from L.A. to the Philadelphia 76ers, while Nik Vučević came to Orlando from Philly. Bynum and Howard were All-Stars, while Vučević was coming off an okay rookie season in which he fell out of the playing rotation. And somehow, no team came away happier with the center they got in the deal than the Magic. That's not to say that Vučević is a better player than Howard or Bynum, but rather that he exceeded expectations to a dizzying degree. And at least he played...

Moore Sixers | phillyBurbs PHILADELPHIA — The 76ers haven’t publicly criticized Andrew Bynum during a season in which he was paid $16.5 million and played no games due to knee injuries.
Philadelphia 76ers April 14, 2013Full Court Press | News Journal PHILADELPHIA – Sixers great Julius Erving, a strategic advisor to the team’s ownership group, laid it out plain and simple Sunday afternoon. The Sixers received nothing from center Andrew Bynum this season and without definitive medical information indicating the one-time … Continue reading →

Liberty Ballers This happened a few days ago, but it took me some time to stop belly-laughing, wipe the tears from my eyes, wipe the dribbling stains down my leg, and sit down to write about Andrew Bynum not showing up for Sixers Picture Day. It's perfect. It's absolutely 100% why-didn't-we-already-think-of-this perfect. I believe Bynum has taken more pictures while shopping than he has with the Sixers. That's the kind of production you want to see from your franchise player. Reasons he didn't attend? Maybe he hates wearing the polo shirts his mom picked out for him. Maybe they weren't offering Maroon...

Liberty Ballers The Sixers are a house of cards right now, only with less ribs and Kate Mara. Four games remain in this loogey of a season and wholesale changes will be made. Andrew Bynum's failure to show up won't be enough to excuse everybody else. Fingers will be pointed. People are going to be canned. But because of the Sixers ownership's less-than-stellar track record of public relations, they're apparently hoping Doug Collins will take a potential P.R. shitstorm out of their hands by walking away. Here's Bob Ford's article on it, if you care for all the juicy rumors and side-by-side guesswork an...
Philadelphia 76ers April 11, 2013Courier-Post So much of the 76ers' success and failure this season was going to hinge on the team's centers, most notably prized offseason acquisition Andrew Bynum.
