New Orleans Pelicans forward/center Anthony Davis (right hip, left thumb) said that he will play against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday. What It Means: Davis made an early exit from Monday's game after a hard fall that prevented him from returning. He sounds fine for tonight's matchup with the Magic, however, and makes for a great DFS option. Davis is currently projected him for 28.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.4 blocks and 1.2 steals in 37.3 minutes against the Magic, according to our models. He ranks 11th in the NBA this season with a 7.1 nERD....

New Orleans Pelicans forward/center Anthony Davis (tailbone) was forced to the locker room during Monday's contest against the Indiana Pacers. What It Means: X-rays came back negative, but Davis is doubtful to return for the end of the fourth quarter. He suffered right hip and left thumb injuries after hitting the floor hard on a failed dunk attempt. Davis was able to sink his free throws, but he appeared to be in serious pain and was barely able to walk while making his way to the locker room. Davis will likely finish with 16 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists on 6-of-11...

Hawks, Pelicans previously engaged in Dwight Howard trade talks, per report

Well this is an interesting tidbit. The Atlanta Hawks are playing improved basketball and that has led the club to reportedly pull everyone, including Paul Millsap, off the trade market. However, more details continue to surface on the type of discussions the front office was having prior to that decision and Dwight Howard was included in a recent report to that end. Zach Lowe of ESPN, in the midst of a deep dive on the New Orleans Pelicans, made reference to Anthony Davis and the “physical toll” of playing the talented big man at center. Shortly thereafter, he slipped in this nugget...

Pelicans list Anthony Davis (hip, thumb) as questionable for Wednesday

New Orleans Pelicans forward/center Anthony Davis (hip, thumb) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Orlando Magic. What It Means: Davis took a hard fall that knocked him out of Monday's game early, and we'll likely have a better idea of his availability after Wednesday's shootaround. If he can't go, look for Terrence Jones to draw the start and play big minutes. If Davis does suit up, we project him for 27.6 points, 12.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 2.4 steals and 2.4 blocks in 37.6 minutes against the Magic. Source: Rotoworld.com

INDIANAPOLIS -- After a trip to London to play the Denver Nuggets, the Indiana Pacers return home on Monday to square off against the New Orleans Pelicans. Anthony Davis' big second half is not enough for New Orleans on Saturday

New Orleans Pelicans forward/center Anthony Davis scored 36 points in his return from a one-game absence during a 107-99 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Saturday. What It Means: Davis dropped 23 points and 9 rebounds in 21 second-half minutes against the Bulls, so despite wearing some protective padding on his hip, Davis seems to be just fine after missing a game. He gets another juicy matchup on Monday afternoon against the Indiana Pacers. Davis is averaging 29.3 points, 12.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.3 steals and a league-leading 2.6 blocks per game. He owns a .511 effective...
