Charlotte Hornets assistant coach Patrick Ewing said Hornets don't have hard-nosed defenders

With Bismack Biyombo headed out the doors, who will fill the void defensively for the Hornets? In 2011 NBA Draft, Bismack Biyombo was selected with the seventh pick to eventually the Charlotte Hornets.  The Hornets announced they would not tender a qualifying offer of $4.05 million to the center making him an unrestricted free agent currently.  Biyombo, 22, has yet to live up to being a No. 7 pick with questions of consistency on both ends of the floor, but he has shown flashes of defense.  Regardless, the Hornets have been extremely active in pursuing a "win now" team, and Biyombo...

Can the Wolves sign Biyombo? Should they try?

Free agency, low usage centers, and Bismack Biyombo Well. There certainly wasn't any time wasted in free agency this year. In the first day alone, 31 players signed contracts worth more than $1,000,000,000 !!!!! in total. (But remember, of course, the owners are broke%%%) Unfortunately the Timberwolves have basically no ability to participate in free agency this year (or perhaps, fortunately, depending on how scarred you still are from last year's summer anxiety festival). The salary cap for this season will come in between $67-69 million. As it stands right now, the Wolves have just over...

According to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer, apparently Toronto is a team to watch in the Biyombo Sweepstakes: Team to watch regarding Bismack Biyombo's unrestricted free...

Charlotte Hornets decline to tender a qualifying offer to Bismack Biyombo

It sounds like Biyombo's time in Charlotte is all but over. The Charlotte Hornets will not tender a qualifying offer to center Bismack Biyombo, making him an unrestricted free agent on July 1, according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski. Biyombo's qualifying offer would have been $4.05 million. This decision is unfortunate. Biyombo, still just 22 years old, recently blossomed into one of the Hornets' more consistent players. While still far from a finished product or anything reliable on either end of the floor, Biyombo flashed an improved understanding of team defense late in the...
