Preview: Hawks host Jazz, aim to avoid fourth straight defeat

The season series finale. Despite positive flashes from the offense, the Atlanta Hawks succumbed to James Harden, Clint Capela and the Houston Rockets on Tuesday evening. While there is no inherent shame in that result, the Hawks have lost three straight games and on Thursday night, the Utah Jazz come to State Farm Arena to present another challenge for Atlanta. The Hawks have a brutal schedule on the horizon to close out the season and this matchup certainly qualifies. On the more favorable side, this is the second night of a back-to-back set for Utah, and that is often beneficial for...

As soon as Houston began hitting threes, this game was over. The Atlanta Hawks suffered their third straight loss as they fell to the Houston Rockets 121-105 on Tuesday night at State Farm Arena. For the Rockets, James Harden scored 31 points — becoming the first player in NBA history to score 30 or more points against all 29 opposing teams in the same season — while Clint Capela added 26 points and 11 rebounds. Rockets turn it up in 2nd half in 121-105 win over Hawks

Clint Capela and Danuel House Jr. step up big in the Rockets’ win. The Houston Rockets flipped the switch in the second half to cruise to a 121-105 win against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night. In the first half of the match, it began to look like the makings of a classic trap game. The Rockets came lumbering out of the gate, only making 4 3-pointers on 21 attempts, shooting 17-of-40 overall from the floor. Luckily for Houston, Atlanta didn’t look any better. The young Hawks team made only 6 of their 22 3-point attempts and fouled the Rockets 13 times. Thanks to the Rockets going...

Harden, Capela lead Rockets to easy win over Hawks

ATLANTA (AP) — James Harden had 31 points and 10 assists, Clint Capela added 26 points and 11 rebounds and the Houston Rockets won their third straight game with a 121-105 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night. The Rockets have won 12 of 13 and have 10 wins in their last 13 road games. It was a lopsided matchup. The Hawks, led by Trae Young's 21 points and 12 assists and John Collins' 20 points 10 rebounds, are rebuilding and likely headed for the NBA draft lottery. Houston is third in the Western Conference and has plenty of star power. Harden, the league's scoring leader, is...

Harden's 31 points help Rockets past 76ers 107-91

HOUSTON (AP) — James Harden had 31 points and 10 rebounds and the Houston Rockets extended their winning streak to a season-high seven games with a 107-91 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night. The Rockets had a big lead for most of the night after a 37-point first quarter and were up by 22 entering the fourth. Philadelphia had trouble containing Clint Capela with Joel Embiid out for the eighth straight game with a sore left knee, and Houston's big man had 18 points and nine rebounds. The victory came after Philadelphia won the first meeting this season 121-93 behind 32 points...

Rockets enter rematch vs. 76ers with starting lineup at full strength

The rematch with the 76ers might seem to be a good test of the difference between the Rockets now, with their starting lineup intact, and when they took one of their most lopsided losses of the season in Philadelphia when Clint Capela and Chris Paul were out and the Sixers rolled to a 121-93 win in January.
