Hoops Hype
The New York Knicks find themselves in an interesting situation with Carmelo Anthony no longer on the roster but cap space still limited. According to ESPN’s NBA insider Ian Begley, the Knicks project to have around $3 million in cap space for the next two offseasons. Of course, a lot can happen between now and then, but based on current figures it would be hard for the team to make a splash without making a move or two first. Joakim Noahs name has come up in multiple discussions about Porzingis trades, per @ramonashelburne & I: https://t.co/4IO5oG0XyP — Ian Begley (@IanBegley) June...

Jeff Hornacek sets defensive challenge for second-year Knick

Courtney Lee’s locker at the Garden hung next to Carmelo Anthony’s last season. Thursday in the Knicks season opener, Lee may be draped all over Anthony on the court in Oklahoma City. In search of a speedier defensive starting unit, Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek is expected to start Lee at small forward against the Thunder,...

Knicks practice notes- 10/12/17: Tim Hardaway Jr. and Courtney Lee could start together

Three guards! The Knicks held practice on Thursday, and injured point guard Frank Ntilikina once again didn’t participate as he attempts to return from a knee contusion Kristaps Porzingis (sore hip) didn’t take part in contact drills. Sigh Jeff Hornacek doesn't seem optimistic about Frank Ntilikina and Kristaps Porzingis playing tomorrow.— Ian Begley (@IanBegley) October 12, 2017 On the plus side, there is some video footage of young Frank getting buckets. Nets 117, Knicks 83: Scenes from an injury-marred blowout

Nets 117, Knicks 83: Scenes from an injury-marred blowout

That wasn’t fun. Knicks basketball has been back for one week, and already it’s negatively affecting my psyche. New York was absolutely pasted by the Nets on Sunday night, losing by a score of 117-83. And did important players get hurt? You know, baby! Doug McDermott (sprained left fifth finger) is available. X-rays were negative. Porzingis (sore right hip) will not return.— NY_KnicksPR (@NY_KnicksPR) October 9, 2017 No idea what happened with Kristaps’ hip. Please be OK, hip. The starting lineup of Jarrett Jack (looking particularly washed), Tim Hardaway Jr., Courtney Lee,...

Wizards 104, Knicks 100: Scenes from the ultimate preseason snooze-fest

Wow this was boring. The New York Knicks played a basketball game Friday night which managed somehow to be light on intrigue even for the preseason. Neither Kristaps Porzingis nor Frank Ntilikina suited up for the ‘Bockers, setting off a minor existential crisis in any New York b-ball fan who dared tune in. Let’s hope Frank and Kristaps are resting comfortably. Oh...as for the game...the Knicks lost to the Wizards, 104-100. It was close! The starting lineup of Ramon Sessions, Tim Hardaway Jr., Courtney Lee, Michael Beasley and Enes Kanter (*makes the sign of the cross, sprinkled holy...

Preseason game thread: Knicks at Wizards- 10/06/17

Beasley will start! The Knicks travel to Washington Friday night to take on the Wizards. Um...somebody will play, I guess. Kristaps Porzingis will rest tonight and Enes Kanter starts at center alongside Michael Beasley at PF and Courtney Lee at SF— Marc Berman (@NYPost_Berman) October 6, 2017 Michael Beasley: starter! Game is at 7:00 PM on on MSG. This is Bullets Forever. Please don’t post large photos, GIFs, or links to illegal streams in this thread. Be nice to one another. Go the Knicks!
