  • Celtics and Clippers still talking, still unable to agree upon a deal (for now)
We know that the Celtics have countered the Clippers with an offer that includes them sending unwanted salaries to Los Angeles. It is unclear if that would be Jason Terry or Courtney Lee but it seems like the Clippers are reluctant to accept those terms as of yet. Which once again leaves both teams trying to play the "I could just walk away" card. Despite the fact that both teams are so far into this that walking away would be hard. Here's the Celtics spin. Celtics Insider | Boston Herald The fact he has had this Clipper flirtation is serving to let other clubs know he is no longer ...
  • What happened to Courtney Lee?
Courtney Lee has been one of the bigger head scratchers of the year for many Celtics fans. We were sold on his ability to play defense and hit three pointers. He was one piece of the puzzle that was going to help us turn the page from the Ray Allen era. He was supposed to be good enough to help the team this year and young enough to grow with Rondo and the rest later. It didn't really work out like that. Early in the year he struggled with his shooting. Eventually that started to come around but it sounds like he wasn't used to shooting spot up shots so often - so according to For...
  • Terrence Williams to the rescue
Doc used a seven man rotation yesterday that didn't feature Courtney Lee, Jordan Crawford, or Chris Wilcox. He didn't throw in D.J. White, Shavlik Randolph, or Fab Melo to give Garnett a blow. Instead, he went to Terrence Williams. The Terrence Williams that spent much of the 2013 season with the Guangdong Southern Tigers. The Terrence Williams that has spent four years in the NBA with four different teams. That Terrence Williams. In Doc's words, "Sometimes you pull out a card. It was him tonight." After the game, the vets gushed at his play: Williams earning Celtics trust in pl...
  • Courtney Lee has fallen out of the Boston Celtics playoff rotation
Courtney Lee was supposed to be a pretty big offseason acquisition. When We didn't get Ray Allen back, he was the younger, more athletic replacement that would help us bridge the gap to the future. He might yet be that in the coming years, but right now he's not doing so well. In fact, he's fallen right out of Doc's playoff rotation. He went from just 20 minutes in game 1, to sitting on the bench until garbage time in game 2. In his place, Jordan Crawford has been gaining minutes and apparently Doc's confidence. Doc puts faith in Crawford - Boston Celtics Blog - ESPN Boston Rivers...

  • Young Celtics bonding, building core for future
First of all, I'd like to point out the solid work that Jess Camerato is doing over on CSNNE. She has a talent for getting past the static basketball questions and getting to know players and bringing that understanding to the reader. Good stuff. The focus on her latest article was the bond being formed by Jeff Green, Avery Bradley, and Courtney Lee - the YG's that interview-bombed Kevin Garnett a few days back. • Garbage time gets interesting but Celtics fall to Grizzlies 106-110
Playing without Kevin Garnett or Courtney Lee, the Celtics just didn't get enough from anyone not named Paul Pierce. This is going to sound harsh, but the first 3 quarters of tonight's game reminded me of the mid 2000's Celtics. It was Paul Pierce and a bunch of role players. Jordan Crawford is a poor man's Ricky Davis and Brandon Bass is kind of a rich man's Mark Blount. Avery Bradley is Tony Allen without the crazy. The game was done with 5 minutes left. Over. Paul Pierce intentionally fouled a guy just so Doc could take him out of the game and play the end of the bench. Then Jo...
  • Courtney Lee already feeling better after ankle sprain
When Lee initially went down holding what appeared to be his knee, most of us assumed or at least feared the worst. That's just the way this season has gone. Thankfully it was just an ankle and now it sounds like it isn't even that bad. Lee better after sprain | Boston Herald "An initial sprain is always the biggest zing right there when it happens," Lee said after the Celtics’ 104-94 loss to Dallas. "But hopefully it’s just swelled up a little bit. "I’ll get some medicine and some ice, and hopefully then it will go down and I’ll be ready to go (tonight). I’ve sprained my ankle a c...
