All-NBA, All-Star selections ultimately mean little to a legacy

Last week, many felt Damian Lillard was snubbed from the All-NBA teams.  The good news for Lillard, however, is that for an NBA legacy, it doesn’t really matter. NBA players and fans think about legacy all the time. It’s one of the reasons we constantly argue who is the best player of all time between LeBron James […] All-NBA, All-Star selections ultimately mean little to a legacy - Rip City Project - Rip City Project - A Portland Trailblazers Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

Damian Lillard Named to Multiple All-NBA Snub Lists

The Blazer’s star point guard was left off all three of the All-NBA teams after another outstanding season. It is that time of the year again, the All-NBA teams were released on Thursday and the Portland Trail Blazers did not have a player on any of the three teams. Star point guard Damian Lillard made the All-NBA Second Team last season, but was left off this year. Lillard received only 12 votes after improving his numbers from his 2015-16 campaign. This came as a surprise to some media members, who believe that Lillard was snubbed. Marc Spears of ESPN: Lillard put a limited Blazers...

Lillard previously made the cut twice with lower stats, but had less support in 2017. Results are in for 2017 All-NBA Team voting and Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard did not make the squad. Despite averaging 27.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game with clear career-highs in per-minute scoring, True Shooting Percentage, PER, and other advanced stats, Lillard could not grab one of a half-dozen available spots for guards. Here are all the stars the Nets could have had without making trades

Here are all the stars the Nets could have had without making trades

The Brooklyn Nets could have had Damian Lillard, Markelle Fultz, Jaylen Brown, Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter if they hadn’t made any trades. Instead, they have one of the weakest lineups in the league and do not own the rights to their first-round pick in the 2018 draft. Their history of trades has come back to light after the draft lottery gave Boston the No. 1 overall pick yesterday. So we took a look back at the notable transaction history of the Nets front office since 2011. Derrick Favors (2011) So far, Nets traded away Derrick Favors, Devin Harris, Enes Kanter, Damian Lillard,...

Comparing the Trail Blazers to 2017 NBA Playoffs Contenders

The Trail Blazers are the youngest team in the league, and could still evolve and adapt their style around Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, and Jusuf Nurkic. As the 2017 NBA Playoffs march toward their eventual conclusion with a champion crowned next month, the Portland Trail Blazers sit on the outside after suffering a 4-0 sweep in the first round via the Golden State Warriors. Clearly the Blazers, despite their strong finish to the season, have plenty of progress to make before they can be considered a true challenger in the West. Why not take a look at some of the current teams they could...

NBA Draft: Ivan Rabb To Work Out For Trail Blazers

Damian Lillard’s former Oakland neighbor could become his future teammate. The Trail Blazers will have three selections in the mid-to-late first round of the upcoming NBA Draft, giving them an opportunity to reunite Oakland neighbors, Damian Lillard and Ivan Rabb. After relocating to the bay area as a youngster, Rabb found himself living across the street from the future star point guard of the Blazers. Jason Quick of CSN NW caught up with Rabb at the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, and asked him about his unique connection to Lillard. “I’ve been knowing him for a time,’’ Rabb said...

Blazers Backcourt Closes Career Year with Solid Playoffs

While critics pointed to their flaws throughout the season, Lillard and McCollum were busy having career years. And the playoffs were much of the same for the Blazers’ star guards. CJ McCollum wants the Blazers to add Paul George from the Pacers

After a Round 1 playoff elimination, Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum wants his team to pursue Indiana Pacers star Paul George. Earlier today, McCollum tweeted that he was bored at the airport and would do a question and answer session with his Twitter followers. One asked who he would like his team to acquire in the upcoming NBA offseason. In the exit interview with Portland general manager Neil Olshey, he said that both Damian Lillard and McCollum are untradable. Otherwise, however, the Blazers don’t have much to offer for George except for future first round picks and Jusuf...

Everything. And this isn’t just about basketball — it’s about waves. Let the Warriors lead the way ... While Damian Lillard, C.J. McCollum, Jusuf Nurkic and the rest of the Portland Trail Blazers are packing bags, readying themselves for tropical getaways, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and the rest of the Warriors are unpacking bags after a two-game stand in Portland.
