Danilo Gallinari out with right knee meniscus tear

The day after having his best game of the year the Denver Nuggets announce that Danilo Gallinari will need surgery for a right knee meniscus repair. Everything sucks. In the "everything sucks forever" file, the Denver Nuggets announced in their injury report this morning that Danilo Gallinari suffered a right meniscus team (not his acl repaired knee, which is his left one). He will need surgery to repair the damage and there is no timetable for his return although he is expected back at some point. In a cruel twist of irony, Gallo had his best game of the season against the Indiana Pacers....

Recap: Nuggets lose in overtime to Rockets 115-111

A rough one at Pepsi Center as Arron Afflalo's late game heroics are for naught in overtime. The effort was there for the Nuggets tonight, it was the execution that let them down late in their 115-111 loss to the Rockets in overtime at Pepsi Center. If it weren't for Arron Afflalo's game tying three-pointer as time expired, the Nuggets would have lost in regulation. Before the game Brian Shaw said he wanted to experiment with Danilo Gallinari at shooting guard, and Gallo played long stretches as the two. The bigger lineup featuring Gallo saw success as the team built a 60-55 first half...

Welcoming the start of the NBA trading season

With the Nuggets struggling at 10-14, how quickly will the team get involved in trade discussions at the opening of the NBA trade season? Happy December 15th! Free agents who signed new contracts before Sept. 16th this summer are eligible for trades - starting now. The Nuggets clearly need to shake things up. The vaunted depth of the roster, perceived as one of the deepest in the league, has thus far only served to create headaches for Brian Shaw and the front office. Multiple injuries to key players (Faried, Gallinari, Foye, McGee) and poor play (Nate Robinson) have hamstrung this team's...

Gallo La Gazzetta interview: Confused about playing time

In a revealing interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy, Danilo Gallinari talks about the direction of the Denver Nuggets, and says he is confused about the team's direction. In an interview published this morning in the Italian sports publication La Gazzetta dello Sport, Danilo Gallinari explains why he is out of the lineup the last two games (knee bruise suffered in Portland Trail Blazers game two weeks ago, right knee). He goes on to explain that he's not entirely sure why he isn't playing more, or why the decision was made for him to come off the bench. Two starting team of...

Open letter to Danilo Gallinari

It can come back, and it will. You just need to push through and remember what got you here Dear Danilo, December 12, 2010 was the first time I ever really watched one of your games. The Denver Nuggets came to New York to play the Knicks and, boldly (to my recollection) you stated that you'd proudly guard Carmelo Anthony. It was a confident statement that, as a Nuggets fan I didn't much appreciate. Who is this Danilo Gallinari steppin up to Melo? While our erstwhile superstar ended up with 31 in that game, you drew the foul on Melo in the closing minutes that sealed the deal for the Knicks....

Getting poetic about the Denver Nuggets

This ain't Walden Pond, my friends Late one hump day, rainier than most A dumb Denver Stiff had forgotten to post He awoke the next morning and thought, "holy shit!" And wondered and worried what to do about it So many angles, articles galore But what about something he'd not done before? His i's could be dotted, his t's he'd be crossin' So maybe another tale about Ty Lawson? The readers might like it, or would they be sorry? Maybe try something about Danilo Gallinari But Gallo's not starting, he's still with a handler With much good to write about "Meh", Wilson Chandler He started...
