The Utah Jazz are showing interest in trading for Dallas Mavericks point guard Deron Williams at the deadline, according to ESPN. What It Means: Williams is scheduled to be a free-agent this summer, so the Mavericks would gladly move the veteran guard, especially with Yogi Ferrell showing so much promise at the position. As for the Jazz, the current backups to George Hill (Dante Exum and Shelvin Mack) aren't cutting it with Williams representing a significant upgrade for the playoff bound Jazz. Williams is averaging 13.1 points and 6.9 assists per game this season while posting...

Dante’s February Inferno

Dante’s February Inferno

Dante Exum is getting better and that should terrify opposing teams. Three years into his short career Dante Exum has looked nothing like the hype that was built up to his eventual drafting at the number 5 spot in the draft. Dante had one of the worst offensive seasons for a rookie in recent history only to follow that up with a promising summer league that led to a non contact ACL injury which sidelined him for his entire sophomore season in the NBA. Exum’s third year up until December looked like he was headed to bust town. In and out of the lineup behind Shelvin Mack and Raul Neto on...

Utah Jazz’s Trade Decision Hinges on Success of Favors, Exum

The Utah Jazz’s decision to stand pat at the trade deadline will be justified only by solid performances from Derrick Favors and Dante Exum. Despite a hectic stretch filled with several rumors and heightened speculation in the final hours leading up to the trade deadline, the anticipated mark came and went without there being a single move […] Utah Jazz’s Trade Decision Hinges on Success of Favors, Exum - Purple and Blues - Purple and Blues - A Utah Jazz Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

Utah Jazz interested in trading for Deron Williams

ESPN’s Tim MacMahon and Marc Stein say . . . maybe? Do you know who is, right now, probably better than Shelvin Mack, Raul Neto, and Dante Exum? Deron Williams. Yeah, that guy who helped the team win 9 playoff games back in his first trip to the post-season. The Dallas Mavericks player isn’t having his best season ever, but his 13 / 7 / 3 / 1 is still pretty impressive for the 32 year old. And if we can see this than so can the Utah Jazz. And that’s precisely what ESPN’s Tim MacMahon is suggesting. Story going online now: Sources tell @ESPNSteinLine and me Utah has expressed...

Utah Jazz: Lyles has fun helping World win wide open Rising Stars Challenge, 150-141

New Orleans • Trey Lyles walked confidently following Friday night’s Rising Stars Challenge. He shook a few hands, said hello to a few of his teammates and tried unsuccessfully to contain the smile on his face before he took questions. Basketball was fun for Lyles at Smoothie King Center. In a 150-141 World Team win over Team USA, the 6-foot-10 forward scored nine points on 4-of-8 shooting. He made one of his four 3-point attempts and handed out a pair of assists. 2017 Rising Stars Challenge final score: 150-141 World defeats Team USA

2017 Rising Stars Challenge final score: 150-141 World defeats Team USA

Jazz players Dante Exum and Trey Lyles compliment unselfish global attack This game wasn’t super entertaining to start with. Yes, there were a lot of three pointers attempted. And there were a few nice dunks. But defense was really an after though as both teams really just got the ball up and down the court and rarely made any major efforts to stop the other team. The northwest division was represented quite a bit in this game as Utah Jazz players Dante Exum and Trey Lyles joined Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns and a trio of Denver Nuggets players (Emmanuel Mudiay, Jamal...
