Fantasy Update

Nov 25, 2014
Derrick Rose (hamstring tightness) sat out the second half of Tuesday's game as a precaution, and he didn't feel anything pop or pull prior to his exit.

Bulls vs. Pistons final score: wire-to-wire victory led by Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose returned after a long weekend recovering from ankle issues and looked pretty good tonight. It's weird to say he wasn't great, but perhaps it's more accurate to say he looked great at times but had enough look pedestrian to lessen the overall grade a bit. But honestly, that's probably good news as it shows he has a higher ceiling than even a 25 point, 7 assist, in 32 minutes night in him going forward. Rose had a burst to both start and end the game, and though he finished 9-20 shooting it was good to see even Rose at, let's guess, 80% of full capacity still look like a definite...

Bulls vs. Pistons game preview: Derrick Rose a game-time decision

[Thanks to Alex for today's game preview. The BaB Derrick Rose injury report (guess) is that he'll play. -yfbb] Did you know the Bulls have the most players averaging 10+ points a game (6) in this young season (along with Utah, Cleveland, and a few others)? Neither did I. Sadly, while our offense has vaulted up the charts (we're currently 6th in points per game, a good indicator of offensive success -- we finished last season ranked dead last in this category), our defense has surprisingly slid (a lowly 16th in opponent points per game, a far cry from our 1st-ranked OPPG at the end of...

This week in the Bulls: Stop bullying Derrick Rose, you idiots

Starring D. Rose critics, Pau's thumbs up and The Booze News. This week in the Bulls: D. Rose sprained both his ankles in one game, Chicago questioned his toughness, Jimmy came back vs. the Wolves and made the Bulls look like fools for not re-signing him, Taj continued to wreck everyone, Mirotic got some burn and pump-faked his way into success, The Craptain kept playing well, Pau stayed torching the sorry-ass teams on the schedule and Doug McDermott burned Aaron Gordon for a dunk. It was a weird week. The Bulls will finish off their run of four games in five nights when they visit the...

Sixers-Bulls Preview: Bruised Stars and Future Sixer Jimmy Butler

Sixers-Bulls Preview: Bruised Stars and Future Sixer Jimmy Butler

The Sixers and Bulls are each dealing with nicks on their best players. Will Nerlens Noel or Derrick Rose suit up? Roughly 760 miles sit between Chicago and Philadelphia, a distance roughly equivalent to how far apart they are in the standings. Though the two teams sit on opposite ends of the league spectrum, they have one thing in common entering tonight -- their star players are dinged up. This isn't necessarily a surprise for either side. Nerlens Noel and his tangled bundle of limbs are still getting up to speed after a major knee injury, and Derrick Rose's health woes are pretty...

Derrick Rose returns from ankle injury, and I'm not sure why

So...this is getting confusing and very Bulls-ian already. After sitting out Tuesday's game with the rare double-ankle sprain, Rose said he saw no reason to push it early in the season if he's not 100%. Made sense to me, even if the mechanics of it were a bit confusing and annoying with Thibs and the Org./MedicalStaff putting out different lineups right before gametime. I did learn that the NFL-esque 'questionable/probable' announcements were a new league protocol. What's then weird is that after Rose was 'downgraded' on Wednesday, he wound up playing. Rose had a couple nice drives and...

Jabari Parker speaks up for fellow Simeon alum Derrick Rose

MILWAUKEE — Bucks rookie forward Jabari Parker never has been one to pass up the easy assist, especially if it’s for a fellow Simeon alum.  So only five games into his NBA career, Parker was doing his part to shield Derrick Rose from the growing criticism emanating from the city they grew up in. Bulls hold on in a sloppy one in Milwaukee

It wasn't pretty but the Bulls were able to pull out a 95-86 win against the Bucks. As is relatively common for Bulls games, this was an ugly one. The Bulls got off to a slow start against a pretty bad Bucks team and trailed at the half. With just a few minutes remaining in the second quarter, Derrick Rose seemed to get mad and burst forth with a flurry of activity, dishing out a pair of assists and hitting a couple of floaters, as the Bulls trimmed the lead from 9 points down to just 4, 53-49. Brandon Knight appeared to make a comment to Rose that Derrick didn't like very much which...

Derrick Rose has unfortunately become a brittle league all-star

You can only be distracted by Elfrid Payton’s hairdo for so long. Then you must say the obvious: Where in the hell is Derrick Rose? As the Bulls played the weak Orlando Magic on Tuesday night at the United Center, eventually winning 98-90, the most noticeable thing — after you grew accustomed to the stuffed animal/mushroom cloud atop rookie Magic guard Payton’s noggin —was Rose’s absence. How delicate is this guy? This was game four of the 2014-15 season...

Derrick Rose watches — again as Bulls top Magic

Derrick Rose has promised “another level’’ to his game. At this point, any level would do. There was the Bulls point guard on Tuesday at the United Center, again on the bench during the 98-90 win over the Orlando Magic, nursing two sprained ankles. Or is it a sprained left ankle, and a tweaked right ankle? Tough to tell considering it’s hard to even gauge when, or if, Rose will play on a nightly basis. After leaving the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers...

Rose's mindset changed more than game

CHICAGO -- Every move Derrick Rose makes on a basketball floor is scrutinized. Every movement is watched and picked apart. That would still be the case if Rose had never gotten hurt, but it's even more evident now as the 26-year-old tries to make his way back from two knee surgeries and, more recently, two ankle sprains. As a handful of fans waited to get their picture taken in the middle of the United Center floor Tuesday night, many whipped out their cell phones and started taking pictures and video of the Bulls' fragile superstar.
