Paxson lauds Augustin's 'special' season

When Derrick Rose went down for a second straight season in November with a knee injury, luck certainly didn't appear to be on the Chicago Bulls' side. As the Bulls tried to regain their balance in the wake of another devastating loss of their franchise player, D.J. Augustin was sitting on the bench in Toronto, a former lottery pick in 2008 unable to crack the Raptors rotation. He appeared in just 10 games with the Raptors, averaging just 8.2 minutes a game before being released on Dec.

Augustin rejoins Bulls after birth of his son

CHARLOTTE -- D.J. Augustin is happy to be back with the Chicago Bulls after missing Monday's game against the Orlando Magic to be with his wife as she gave birth to a baby boy, Trey. Augustin proudly rattled off the details of the newest member of the family after Wednesday morning's shootaround. "He was 7 pounds, 2 ounces and he was 18 inches, so that was pretty big for 37 weeks," Augustin said. "If he'd have stayed in 40 weeks, he would have been eight pounds, nine pounds, something like that.

D.J. Augustin, Joakim Noah shine again

BOSTON -- Joakim Noah has said several times already that D.J. Augustin's presence has saved the Chicago Bulls' season. Noah also said he doesn't believe he would have made the All-Star team for the second consecutive season had it not been for the fact Augustin was claimed off waivers in December from the Toronto Raptors ... and has played All-Star caliber offensive basketball ever since. That's why it should come as no surprise that Noah, the emotional leader of a reborn Bulls team, happily gave Augustin a hard time after the veteran point guard scored a career-high 33 points, 15 of...

Augustin scored a career-high 33 points, including 15 in the fourth quarter. After watching some pretty exciting Elite Eight action on Sunday, I wasn't expecting much from Bulls and Celtics. However, Bulls-Celtics actually turned into quite the entertaining affair, with Chicago pulling out a 107-102 win courtesy of D.J. Augustin. Augustin was spectacular all game long, scoring a career-high 33 points on 10-of-14 shooting. He also played the hero down the stretch, burying a go-ahead three with 1:19 left and then knocking down six free throws to help seal the deal. 15 of D.J.'s 33 points...

If there was a stat for it, the Boston Celtics probably would lead the league in "competitive losses," as they fell again tonight, 107-102. After keeping the game close through 48 minutes, the Celtics were unable to pull through, this time against the Chicago Bulls. D.J. Augustin led the way for Chicago with a career-high 33 points on 10-of-14 shooting.
