The injury was much like the one that ended Keith Bogans season, with damage to both soft tissue and bone. The Nets withdrew the invitation and eventually signed Josh Childress. Now, with Marc J. NetsDaily — In a series of tweets over the last two days, Donte Greene has been less than subtly lobbying for the 15th spot on the Nets roster. Greene was supposed to join the team in training camp but broke his ankle in a pick-up game just days after the invitation was extended. Now, the 6'11" small forward out of Syracuse says he's ready to go. A week ago, Marc J. Spears quoted a source as saying "Free agent forward Donte Greene is 100% cleared to play after recovering from fractured ankle & is working on conditioning."
