2019-20 Knicks Season Preview: Frank Ntilikina

Photo by Elyxandro Cegarra/NurPhoto via Previewing our Bossa Nova Cassanova Have you ever listened to Captain Marvel? No, I’m not talking about the soundtrack to the Brie Larson Marvel movie. Actually, I am in no way speaking about the comic book character. Captain Marvel is the name of a 1974 jazz album by Stan Getz. If you’re not familiar with the man whose nickname is “The Sound,” it’s understandable, since there are very few jazz musicians outside of John Coltrane and Miles Davis that are widely known in the American pop culture zeitgeist. Getz and his warm and soothing...

The Knicks should pick up Frank Ntilikina’s fourth year option

Photo by Jesse Garrabrant/NBAE via Ntilikina has struggled mightily offensively through his first two seasons but it would be short-sighted not to exercise the final year option on his rookie deal Through his first two seasons with the Knicks, Frank Ntilikina has been a constant source of division among fans. For good reason, too. He has been historically awful as a shooter from the field, and the combination of extremely raw dribbling ability and his non-aggressive nature is often infuriating to watch. On the other hand, after cycling through defensive turnstile after defensive...

France gets Bronze at FIBA World Cup

France gets Bronze at FIBA World Cup

We come from France USA finished seventh. France won the third place game today, getting revenge over Australia for an earlier tournament defeat. Nice way to end their run at the FIBA World Cup. Rudy Gobert and Frank Ntilikina were relative non factors in the game with poor shooting efforts and Gobert unable to stay on the floor. France elected to go small late in the game and Nicolas Batum, Nando de Colo and Andrew Albicy did the requisite damage to drive the French over the top. It’s too bad that French coach, Vincent Collet, didn’t think to go small in the previous game against...

Argentina 80, France 66: Scenes from old man Scola’s work bench

Photo by Lintao Zhang/ Honestly? Needed way more Ntilikina. Tough loss for France tonight in China. Argentina’s defense was too gluey for Evan Fournier and Nando de Colo to get out of first gear. French coach Vincent Collet decided to double down on his veteran wings, subbing out Frank Ntilikina for Andrew Albicy to start the second half. Rudy Gobert was stuck in his head all game. The credit goes to the Argentines. Luis Scola had a masterful game and France never even came close to figuring him out. In their first game, Frank Ntilikina struggled at times with the quick and shifty Dennis Schroder. He made plenty of progress in each successive game, culminating in terrorizing Kemba Walker on Wednesday. Today he’ll have to clamp up on Facundo Campazzo, who is smaller but a more masterful sorcerer than Schroder is. Dale like si ya estás manija por ver la magia de #Campazzo mañana ...

Frank Ntilikina owns Kemba Walker: A video breakdown

Photo by Zhizhao Wu/ Highlights from Frank’s shining moment at FIBA Kemba Walker was having a stellar FIBA World Cup tournament until Frank Ntilikina came along. Averaging 14.6 points and six assists per game on 50 percent from the field and 41 percent from three, he was single-handedly keeping Team USA the tournament favorites. Frank didn’t care about how well Kemba had been performing, and never has. When Frank Ntilikina sees that homunculus point guard, his eyes light up. He goes from a tentative, debated bust, to the two-way superstar he was projected to be in a best-case...
