Reports: Greivis Vasquez uncertain for Rio Olympics

Sean Marks said Wednesday he anticipates going to Rio de Janiero next month because the Nets will have three players --Bojan Bogdanovic, Luis Scola and Greivis Vasquez-- playing in the Olympics. But he may be only able to see two of his players in Rio.  Reports in the Venezuelan press seem to indicate that Greivis Vasquez's status with the Venezuelan Olympic team remains uncertain. Brooklyn Nets sign Luis Scola, bringing roster to 12

Hours after Greivis Vasquez inked his new deal in New York, the Nets announced that Luis Scola, the 6'9" Argenntine power forward, had signed as well, apparently in Las Vegas. The signing brings the total of guaranteed deals to 12. There's been no reporting on how much the one-year deal is worth.  Assuming that his deal is similar to Vasquez --around $5 million-- the Nets still have more than $20 million in cap space. Greivis Vasquez: "I want to finish my career in New York"

After flying from Kaunas, Lithuania, to New York, Greivis Vasquez made his way to the HSS training center to sign his new contract with the Brooklyn Nets. Vasquez, who's been training and playing with the Venezuelan team in Europe, said playing in New York is a dream for him and he hopes to finish his career there.
