Winning is only thing for struggling Jameer Nelson

DALLAS - Jameer Nelson's numbers are the worst of his career. The former Chester High and St. Joseph's standout signed with the Dallas Mavericks in the offseason after a decade with the Orlando Magic. The point guard averaged 12.6 points and 5.4 assists over his career in Orlando. He headed into Thursday's game against the 76ers averaging a career-low 7.5 points and 3.5 assists.

Mavs hope Nelson (hamstring) won't miss time

DALLAS – The Dallas Mavericks are optimistic that starting point guard Jameer Nelson will not have to miss any time due to a slight hamstring strain he suffered Tuesday night. Dirk had 16 points all in the first half including four three-pointers. The offense fired on all cylinders with contributions from the entire roster. The game was a homecoming of sorts for Jameer Nelson and Chandler...

Jameer Nelson grateful Magic let him go to a winner

Ten years into his career, winning matters much more to Jameer Nelson than money. That’s why Nelson was grateful to be waived by the Orlando Magic this summer. Nelson was due to make $8 million this season in the final year of his contract with the Magic, but only $2 million of it was guaranteed. Orlando opted to save the money and allow Nelson, a loyal leader the franchise honored with a billboard after cutting ties with him, to search for an opportunity to join a contender.
