Celtics’ Jaylen Brown admits he ‘was devastated’ by Team USA’s World Cup failure

Jaylen Brown put some extra work this summer playing for Team USA, committing six weeks of his summer to bond with fellow Boston Celtics teammates Kemba Walker, Marcus Smart, and Jayson Tatum — though he wound up devastated by finishing seventh in the 2019 FIBA World Cup, the lowest finish ever by a U.S. team in a […] The post Celtics’ Jaylen Brown admits he ‘was devastated’ by Team USA’s World Cup failure appeared first on ClutchPoints.

Marcus Smart’s record-breaking night eases pain of another loss

Photo by Adam Glanzman/ Smart took a game high 25 shots in this one as he fought tooth and nail to keep the score close down the stretch. Shorthanded and devoid of confidence, the Boston Celtics went into last night’s game needing performances from Jayson Tatum and Gordon Hayward. Unfortunately, neither were able to provide the spark the team required against a young Phoenix team that always seems to perform against them. With both Kemba Walker and Jaylen Brown sitting the game out due to injury, and Tatum and Hayward struggling, the Celtics looked short of firepower from the get go....

The high pick-and-roll has become a weapon for the Celtics

The high pick-and-roll has become a weapon for the Celtics

David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports Kemba Walker and Daniel Theis have become a formidable pair. Over the Celtics last three games, there has been one thing which they have gone back to again and again, running it successfully and burning opposing defenses in the process: the high pick-and-roll. Two games ago it was Jayson Tatum who was the beneficiary of this, as he utilized Daniel Theis’s growing influence in pick-and-roll situations to drop a career high 41 points on the Pelicans. Against the Bulls, it was Enes Kanter in Theis’ absence, modifying it slightly by using the high...

Photo by Brian Babineau/NBAE via One Jay re-enters the lineup, one potentially leaves it. The Boston Celtics have lost 4 out of their last 6 games, and now they travel to Milwaukee to take on the best team in the league. Naturally, it would be ideal if the Celtics could get as close to full health as possible, but that might not actually be possible, depending on how Jaylen Brown’s thumb feels prior to tip off. The Boston Celtics say Jaylen Brown is questionable for tonight's game at the Milwaukee Bucks due to a sprained right thumb.Jayson Tatum and Daniel Theis are off the injury...

The Garden Report: Are the Celtics deep enough to sit Jayson Tatum?

The Garden Report: Are the Celtics deep enough to sit Jayson Tatum?

“They came out flat to start ... it should be guys wanting to step up.” Brad Stevens searched between Romeo Langford, Semi Ojeleye and Javonte Green to fill the third gap on the wing left by a load management night for Jayson Tatum. The three only managed to unload four shots for eight points, far from the scoring volume Tatum usually provides. The Celtics heavily rely on Tatum, Gordon Hayward, Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker for the brunt of their scoring. It’s no surprise why they’re among the all-star candidates. None of its bench players are, and while Enes Kanter is on a tear...

The Garden Report: Who should make All Star Game on the Celtics?

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports Kemba Walker, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum all boast numbers worthy of Chicago. Can all three fit on the team? Grant Williams pitched the media with posters. Of course, they own 25% of the all-star vote. The Celtics’ overwhelming victory over the Bulls, who host the All Star Game, showcased all three candidates with a fringe possibility of a fourth in Gordon Hayward gluing it together (if he didn’t miss time). Could Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker all land on the team. Does a 27-11 warrant that many bodies, and if one has to miss the trip...
