Orlando Magic using Serge Ibaka to solve 3-point problem

The Orlando Magic lost three of their top 3-point shooters to injury recently. They have had to shuffle roles and use Serge Ibaka more as a shooter. The Orlando Magic's season seemed to go from bad to worse two weeks ago when Jodie Meeks dislocated his thumb. The team's only 40-percent 3-...

Jodie Meeks undergoes thumb surgery

The Magic will be without their sharpshooting guard for an indefinite amount of time. The injury bug became a little bit worse for the Orlando Magic on Tuesday, when the team announced sharpshooting guard Jodie Meeks underwent surgery to repair a dislocated right thumb. Meeks, who suffered the injury in the teams loss to the New Orleans Pelicans last Wednesday, was initially expected to avoid surgery, but after a second evaluation it was determined he needed surgery. There is no timetable for his return at this time. With Evan Fournier continuing to deal with a heel injury, and C.J....

Shorthanded Magic fall to the Bulls, 100-92

The Magic may have had a chance if not for their numerous mistakes, turnovers, and bad shots. With the Magic at their worst health all season, down Evan Fournier, Jodie Meeks, and now D.J. Augustin, they needed a big game from Elfrid Payton to have a chance against the Bulls. Had he played with the same success he has for the last month, the Magic may have won handily. Unfortunately, he picked the worst time to have arguably his worst game of the season, committing 8 turnovers on the way to the Magic’s 100-92 loss at home to Chicago. Nikola Vucevic led the Magic in scoring with 20, 12 of...

Jodie Meeks (thumb surgery) out indefinitely for Magic

Orlando Magic shooting guard Jodie Meeks underwent surgery to correct his dislocated right thumb on Tuesday, and he will be out indefinitely. What It Means: Meeks has been limited to 24 games this season after playing in just three last year, and he doesn't carry any fantasy relevance at this point. Evan Fournier (heel) and D.J. Augustin are also out, meaning Elfrid Payton should remain plenty busy in the backcourt. Mario Hezonja may have an opportunity to work his way into the rotation. Payton has been on a tear over his past five contests, and is averaging 21.0 points, 8.0...

Jeff Green starting for the Magic versus the Bulls

Orlando Magic guard/forward Jeff Green will be in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Chicago Bulls with C.J. Watson going back to the bench. What It Means: Watson started the last two games at shooting guard with Evan Fournier and Jodie Meeks both out with injury but has struggled with his shot (6-for-18 from the field). Green, on the other hand, has played well off the bench averaging 14.3 points in 25.8 minutes his last three games, earning the promotion. Before the news of the lineup switch, Green was projected for 10.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists...
