Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks believes the team should be a free agent destination as soon as this offseason. In less than a full season, Trae Young has changed the culture of the Atlanta Hawks. While John Collins was a terrific player last year, he is something of a dependent talent insofar as he […] Atlanta Hawks: Trae Young Thinks Atlanta Will Be Free Agent Destination - Soaring Down South - Soaring Down South - An Atlanta Hawks blog

Hawks undone by second half three-point shooting in loss to Rockets

As soon as Houston began hitting threes, this game was over. The Atlanta Hawks suffered their third straight loss as they fell to the Houston Rockets 121-105 on Tuesday night at State Farm Arena. Trae Young notched his 24th double-double of the season with 21 points and 12 assists while John Collins notched his 30th double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. For the Rockets, James Harden scored 31 points — becoming the first player in NBA history to score 30 or more points against all 29 opposing teams in the same season — while Clint Capela added 26 points and 11 rebounds. Video: Rockets’ Chris Paul goes between-the-legs, gets Hawks’ John Collins to bite, and feeds Kenneth Faried

Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul has a bevy of ball-handling moves in his arsenal, a fact that Atlanta Hawks big man John Collins found out the hard way during Tuesday’s contest. With Paul driving the lane during the fourth quarter, he faked Collins out with a dribble between his own legs, seemingly paving the […] The post Video: Rockets’ Chris Paul goes between-the-legs, gets Hawks’ John Collins to bite, and feeds Kenneth Faried appeared first on ClutchPoints.

Atlanta Hawks: Rapid Reaction to Loss vs. Houston Rockets

A quick recap of what was a tough night of basketball for the Atlanta Hawks against the Houston Rockets. For the second time this season, the Atlanta Hawks fell to the Houston Rockets in convincing fashion. Hawks yield to Rockets for third straight loss, 121-105

The onslaught (finally) came. Following a weekend back-to-back to forget, the Atlanta Hawks returned to the friendly confines of State Farm Arena on Tuesday evening. With James Harden, Chris Paul and the Houston Rockets in town, expectations were modest and, though there were signs of life along the way, the home team eventually fell by a final score of 121-105. The evening began with five straight points from the Rockets but the Hawks quickly put an end to that with a patented alley-oop connection from Trae Young and John Collins. The future of the Atlanta Hawks....

Hawks reportedly add Deyonta Davis on 10-day contract

A new face. With Tyler Zeller’s 10-day contract expiring, the Atlanta Hawks were presumably on the hunt for additional frontcourt depth. The team does have a healthy stable of rotational options in John Collins, Alex Len and Dewayne Dedmon but, beyond that, injuries to Omari Spellman, Alex Poythress and Miles Plumlee take away insurance and, with that in mind, the Hawks have reportedly come to an agreement with 22-year-old big man Deyonta Davis on a 10-day pact. The Atlanta Hawks are signing center Deyonta Davis of G League’s Santa Cruz Warriors to a 10-day contract, league sources...

Atlanta Hawks second-year big man John Collins has made a huge leap this season, and he believes the way he played and his production this year warrant a massive consideration for the Most Improved Player award. John Collins was a beast for the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night, finishing with a huge double-double of 27 points to go with 12 boards.  In an otherwise meaningless game in terms of playoff implications, the Hawks and Memphis Grizzlies duked it out as both teams aimed to give their fans some optimism heading into […] The post Video: Hawks’ John Collins gets his dunk partially blocked but makes an insane mid-air adjustment for the bucket appeared first on ClutchPoints.
