Injury Report: Monta Ellis to miss first game with Mavericks

Monta Ellis is out. Heading into Sunday's game against the Indiana Pacers, the Dallas Mavericks will once again be shorthanded due to injuries. Starting shooting guard Monta Ellis will miss his first game since joining the Mavericks. It also ends his streak of 237 consecutive games played. Ellis sustained a calf injury during Friday night's loss to the San Antonio Spurs. There is so far no timetable for Ellis' return. Richard Jefferson will start in place of Ellis. Dallas will also be without backup point guard J.J. Barea. Barea has missed the last three games with an ankle injury. As for...

Injury Report: Barea out, Harris questionable

The Mavs could once again be shorthanded at the point while the Spurs expect to get Ginobili back. It seems like the health of the Mavericks' backup point guards has been an issue for some time now. Once again, both J.J. Barea and Devin Harris find themselves on the injury report before the Mavs host the Spurs Tuesday night. Barea is officially listed as out. This will be the second game in a row in which a sprained left ankle has sidelined Dallas' diminutive point guard. As for Harris, he is listed as questionable for tonight's game. Harris did, however, participate in Tuesday's...

Barea, Harris ill, uncertain vs. Magic

DALLAS – J.J. Barea joined Devin Harris on the Dallas Mavericks’ sick list. Harris left Monday night’s win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first half after falling ill and did not return. Barea woke up Tuesday morning with a fever and, like Harris, did not attend the Mavs’ film session and lifting/shooting workout at the American Airlines Center. The status of the Mavs’ top two reserve guards for Wednesday night’s game against the Orlando Magic is uncertain.

Dallas Falls to Brooklyn, 104-94

Dallas drops its second straight game, this time to a 23-33 Brooklyn Nets squad. Dallas struggled in the second half, and missed Tyson Chandler terribly, en route to a 104-94 loss to the Brooklyn Nets. The Mavs came out with one of the most ridiculous starting lineups this season, due to Tyson being out of the lineup, with Rondo, Barea, Ellis, Jefferson and Dirk making up the first five Mavs out on the court. Despite maintaining a lead for the majority of the first half, Dallas just couldn't pull away. After the Mavs worked their way to a 39-31 lead with 7:11 left in the second quarter the...
