Mason Plumlee and Kevin Garnett each rated 77 in NBA2K15

Mason Plumlee and Kevin Garnett each rated 77 in NBA2K15

As more ratings get released for NBA2K15, it seems clear, the Brooklyn Nets are being underrated in the game. Mason Plumlee, who has had a meteoric rise this off-season winning a gold medal with Team USA, is ranked 77 in the game. Kevin Garnett, the surefire Hall of Famer, is also rated 77. Players of note that are also rated 77 are Andre Wiggins, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Amar'e Stoudemire. The two Brooklyn players are rated higher than Slam Dunk Champion Terrance Ross, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nerlens Noel, and suprisingly, Anderson Varejao, who comes in with a 75. The developers of 2K have...

Film Study Part I: Can a Brook Lopez and Kevin Garnett starting lineup work?

Film Study Part I: Can a Brook Lopez and Kevin Garnett starting lineup work?

In this first installment of a two part film study, we will look to see if Brook Lopez and Kevin Garnett can work together to make the Nets the best team possible on the defensive end. When Lionel Hollins announced Monday afternoon that Kevin Garnett will likely start alongside a healthy Brook Lopez this season, I had mixed reactions. It was hard for me to imagine Garnett not being in the starting lineup, but after watching him battle age and poor health last season --along with the rise of young players on the roster-- it seemed time for KG to come off the bench. Not to mention that I...

Kevin Garnett will be Nets starting power forward, says new coach Lionel Hollins

Kevin Garnett was a shell of himself last season, a reality that his defenders chalked up to injury, and doubters deemed a steep regression based on age. Lionel Hollins, for one, expects resurgence from Garnett.

Lionel Hollins: Kevin Garnett to start at power forward

At Deron Williams' Dodge Barrage event in New York City Monday afternoon, Lionel Hollins meet with the New York media and dropped a very interesting note about the Nets' lineup this season. The head coach told reporters that Kevin Garnett will be the team's starting power forward this season, at least for the start of the season. Where's Kevin Garnett? At the US Open!

Well, all those questions about Kevin Garnett's whereabouts got answered at the U.S. Open Thursday night. There he was in Forest Hills with his wife, enjoying Roger Federer vs. Gael Monfils and fooling around with a couple of the staff.  He looked very happy, or happier than the couple sitting in front of him. And yes, he has been seen at the Nets practice facility as well. Thanks to C.J. Fogler of cjzero.com for capturing it all and tweeting it out, with an appropriate comment, too.

Garnett's preferred destination and 'destination players'

A seven-year-old narrative should be set straight. Unlike Kevin Love, Kevin Garnett did not want to leave the Timberwolves. This differentiation on preferred destination was going to be in my story on the Garnett trade, but didn't make it in due to space constraints. Saturday, Timberwolves president of basketball operations Flip Saunders took time out of the news conference announcing the Love-to-Cleveland trade to retell the story. "Garnett didn’t want to leave," Saunders said. "Garnett was here for 12 years, signed three contracts, had no trade clause, actually turned down trades early at...

Teammates, coaches praise what Mason Plumlee brings to Team USA

Teammates, coaches praise what Mason Plumlee brings to Team USA

You'll get no argument from Mason Plumlee's teammates or coaches as to whether he deserved a slot on Team USA. They know. Tim Bontemps spoke with them this week as part of his profile of the Nets big man ... and no surprise, they credited his toughness, work ethic and defense. "[Plumlee’s] a great communicator," Thibodeau said, comparing Plumlee to his Nets teammate and former Thibodeau charge, Kevin Garnett. "You see that he sees things early. He’s a multiple-effort guy. That’s what Kevin is, and any time a young guy has an opportunity to be around a guy like Kevin, it’s very...
