Bulls sign Kirk Hinrich, Cameron Bairstow

Monday proved to be something old and something new for the Bulls, as the organization announced that they officially signed veteran guard Kirk Hinrich, as well as second-round pick Cameron Bairstow.

Bulls rounding out the new Bench Mob

CHICAGO -- Chicago Bulls Tom Thibodeau is going to walk into training camp in September with a roster full of something it lacked the past two seasons: depth. As the Bulls continue to announce new deals -- on Monday it was the signing of second-round pick Cameron Bairstow and the re-signing of veteran Kirk Hinrich, later this week it likely will be the signing of first-round pick Doug McDermott and free agent guard Aaron Brooks -- Thibodeau's new group takes a shape that the veteran coach has to like.

Bulls sign Hinrich, rookie Bairstow

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bulls announced the signings of veteran guard Kirk Hinrich and second-round draft pick Cameron Bairstow on Monday. The 33-year-old Hinrich has spent nine of his 11 NBA seasons with the Bulls, including last season when he averaged 11.8 points and 5.2 assists in 32.3 minutes a game. "Kirk has always been a big part of creating the professional culture we want day in, day out surrounding our club," Bulls GM Gar Forman said in a statement.

Bulls close to signing veteran guard Aaron Brooks

If Tom Thibodeau really is the guard whisperer, Aaron Brooks could make a lot of money next offseason. According to a Bulls source, the team was about to finalize a deal for Brooks as of Saturday night, with the 29-year-old added on a veteran’s minimum exception. Considering the injuries suffered by Derrick Rose and Kirk Hinrich the last two seasons, Brooks could come in handy. Two years ago, Thibodeau turned around the career of guard Nate Robinson. Last year,...

Kirk Hinrich re-signs with Bulls

Kirk Hinrich re-signs with Bulls

It was his destiny, you see. In what should probably be characterized as the surest thing of the offseason, Kirk Hinrich is returning to the Bulls: Kirk Hinrich has re-signed with the Bulls, per source. — David Aldridge (@daldridgetnt) July 13, 2014 The Hornets fell out of the Hinrich "chase" after signing Brian Roberts for point-guard depth. It probably didn't even matter if they did keep chasing Hinrich, because it was his destiny to return to Chicago. The terms of the deal haven't been reported, but K.C. Johnson offered up the idea of the room exception, which is about $2.7...

REPORT: Charlotte Hornets Show Interest In Kirk Hinrich

While the main focus of the Hornets community has been on focused on the potential upgrade at the Small Forward position, the secondary concern for Charlotte lies with their real lack of a solid backup point guard. Since the departure of Ramon Sessions, Charlotte struggled to find a competent replacement as Luke Ridnour had one of his worst seasons […] The post REPORT: Charlotte Hornets Show Interest In Kirk Hinrich appeared first on .

Hornets in the free agency hunt for Kirk Hinrich

Reports say the Hornets are looking at the long-time Bulls point guard for some added defense and shooting off the bench. As expected, the Hornets are one of the teams chasing after free agent point guard Kirk Hinrich, according to Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski. The 33-year-old, 11-year veteran is targeted as a backup point guard for the Hornets. I expected to see the Hornets take a look at Hinrich, who offers some defense and shooting off the bench. Luke Ridnour's defense was a problem toward the end of the season, and Hinrich is a bit fiercer a defender and still a decent shooter. However,...
