Pat Riley: Heat still considering Michael Beasley, Greg Oden, Ray Allen

The Heat have 12 players under contract and are looking at a few tweaks between now and the start of training camp. Three possibilities are players who were with the team last year, including future Hall of Famer Ray Allen. Allen was one of the team’s top two bench players last season and has yet to decide whether he wants to keep playing. If he comes back, he will have numerous suitors, including Miami and Cleveland. “We haven’t moved on,” Riley said. “I’ve been told he has not made a decision at all about anything.” Michael Beasley had trouble cracking the rotation last ...

Should "Project Beasley" be continued?

Despite career lows across the board, Michael Beasley still has something to prove and the talent to do so. With Miami losing many scoring threats, putting trust in Beasley's ability may not be such a bad thing. In recent years Michael Beasley’s, or "B-Eazy’s" reputation among basketball enthusiasts has been manipulated in an unfavourable manner. The former 2008 number 2 draft pick has gone from being recognized as a late bloomer, to something of a laughing stock. Since 2008, Beasley has been involved in many incidents, Kris Habbas of SB Nation’s Bright Side of the Sun does an...

Miami Heat still non-committal on Michael Beasley, Greg Oden

Miami Heat still non-committal on Michael Beasley, Greg Oden

Even with at least three roster spots to fill, the Heat continues to be non-committal with free agents Michael Beasley and Greg Oden, with the team neither closing the door on a return in conversations with their agents nor offering them a contract to this point, either.

ASK IRA: Do Beasley, Oden still make sense for Heat?

Q: Ira, what are the chances the Heat bring back Michael Beasley and Greg Oden? Do you see more of a featured role for them if they do come back? I think Beasley would be a nice fit on this squad. He isn't great at defense, but he isn't atrocious, and his offense can be much needed. -- Rick, Coral Springs.
