In that trade the Clippers lost last season's sixth man Mo Williams. Williams heads into free agency

CBSSports.com Fantasy — The Jazz failed to qualify for the playoffs this season, and Mo Williams' limited upside has been frequently cited as a big part of that failure. The Jazz reportedly spent much of the season looking for point guard upgrades over Williams, a sign that they might not have much interest in bringing the 30-year-old back now that he is a free agent. Williams played in 46 games for the Jazz, averaging 12.9 points and 6.2 assists per game.

Utah Jazz: Hero Ball & Mo Williams

TornBySports — This may come as a shocker to many, but as a local sports blogger I make $0.00 for running this site. So, every work day I go to my day job from 5:30am to 3:00pm. These are pretty sweet hours in my opinion. So,  when I take my 10 minute drive home I listen to the... Continue Reading »

Utah Jazz Statistics: MoFo is nice, but 82Games.com reveals spectacular team production by position information

SLC Dunk — This season the Utah Jazz are starting two bench guys from the Los Angeles Clippers as our starting back court: Mo Williams and Randy Foye. Or MoFo is you are 'down' and 'hip'. Well, MoFo are, as a unit, two guys who can get super hot and bomb from the outside. They're also not very great on defense, they don't rebound well, and aren't super consistent from game to game. On any given night they may be at risk of finishing the game making 8 three pointers, or 2 three pointers -- while playing the same number of minutes and taking the same number of shots. I do think that most Jazz fans ...

The Jazz Defense Can Be Entertaining Edition - The Downbeat - #MIX

SLC Dunk — Zach Lowe has written another must-read piece on the Jazz (for which Tyrone Corbin declined comment). Lowe takes a look at how the offense has changed in recent weeks and the Jazz's continued defensive woes, highlighting in particular the combination of Al Jefferson + Mo Williams. Bottom line: This team just can’t defend, regardless of their strategy, and especially when both Jefferson and Williams are on the floor. Those are two very bad defenders at very important positions, and it would be difficult for any coach to build a top-10 defense around them. Of course, coaches control p...

Salt Lake Tribune — Kragthorpe: Quick analysis of Jazz 112, Blazers 102 by Kurt Kragthorpe The Salt Lake Tribune Published Apr 1, 2013 09:25PM MDT Quick analysis of the Jazz’s 112-102 victory over Portland on Monday night at EnergySolutions Arena: What happened: Point guard Mo Williams made six 3-pointers in the first three quarters and the Jazz won their fifth straight game, marking the team’s longest streak of the season. What went right: The outcome never was in doubt, thanks to the Jazz’s fast start and offensive efficiency. Williams looked a lot like teammate Randy Foye did Saturday against Brooklyn...

Immediate Reaction: Jazz win fifth game in a row, Mo Williams and Al Jefferson take control early, Jeremy Evans takes off late

SLC Dunk — NBA Regular Season 2012-2013, Game 75: Portland Trail Blazers 102 at Utah Jazz 112 Don't be an April Fool. Play together, play hard, and get the win. : Quick Reaction: Mo Williams and Al Jefferson picked apart the Blazers for 44 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks, while Al took control in the paint finishing at the rim, and Mo went 6/7 from downtown. No LaMarcus Aldridge, and Portland's crew couldn't keep up. There was expensive garbage time and I'm hurrying through this post because . . . Yeah. That's where Jeremy Evans took off from. Mo Williams says Utah Jazz 'running different stuff' to start games

Utah Jazz Notes | Salt Lake TribuneMo Williams says Utah Jazz 'running different stuff' to start games the Salt Lake Tribune Published Mar 27, 2013 11:18PM MDT Al Jefferson has been the focal point of the Jazz offense since his arrival in 2010. There is no surprise when the Jazz pound the ball to the center on the left block. That part of the court is his workshop, where he toils and tinkers, finding new ways to frustrate competent, professional big men into looking foolish. Jefferson took 23 shots on Wednesday. His role in the Jazz offense is not diminished. But is it changing? That was the sense given by both Mo Will...

Williams still not scoring much

Williams finished with just nine points in the 107-91 win on 4 of 8 shooting from the field. He did make his lone attempt from behind the arc and also added five assists, two steals and two rebounds to his stat line, while logging 25 minutes of game action.

Utah Jazz Player of the Week: Week 20

SLC Dunk — Not that bad of a week for Utah. As expected, we won at home vs the Pistons and lost on the road to the Thunder. However, beating Memphis did surprise me a little, and is impressive regardless of the location. Mo Williams Weekly Line: 12.7 PPG (47.1%), 1.3 RPG, 5 APG (1.7 TOs), .3 BPG, 1 SPG, -2.7 +/- (27.7 MINS) Mo had his best game since returning against the Pistons, scoring 20 on 9/14 shooting while finishing with 6 dimes. He wasn't as impressive throughout the rest of the week though, as he shot 2/7 against OKC and 5/13 in the MEM game (9 assists in those games). Since Mo has come...
