The NBA announced Tuesday that New York Knicks guard Jason Kidd won the 2013 NBA Sportsmanship Award, becoming the first player in the award's 18-year history to win it in consecutive seasons. Orlando Magic guard Jameer Nelson finished sixth in the voting, behind Kidd, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, Chicago Bulls forward Luol Deng, Memphis Grizzlies guard Michael Conley, and Oklahoma City Thunder big man Nick Collison. The Thunder is up 2-0 in their first round series against their old teammate James Harden and his new team the Houston Rockets. The Thunder was able to survive a scare in game 2, when in all actuality the Rockets didn’t even play that great. Why did the Thunder struggle so more in the second game? There are a lot of reasons for this but I believe that the biggest was that everyone’s favorite undersized marginally athletic forward didn’t get enough minutes.
