Golden State Warriors guard/forward Andre Iguodala (strained hip) has been ruled out against teh Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday. What It Means: This comes as a bit of a surprise, as Iguodala hadn't appeared on the injury report until now, and there's no word yet on whether he is at risk of missing multiple games. Look for Patrick McCaw and Matt Barnes to both see some increased minutes with Iguodala on the sidelines. Our models project Barnes for 8.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 25.5 minutes of action on Tuesday. Source: Rotoworld.com

Warriors showcase ball movement in 114-100 win over Kings

Instead of driving to the rim, a decision no coach could have faulted, he bounce passed to a trailing Patrick McCaw. After dribbling into the key, the two-time reigning NBA MVP found Draymond Green at the top of the arc. In that sequence, a dizzying display of selfless basketball, Golden State reinforced an important reality: With Thompson laboring through an off shooting night, Curry (27 points) and Green (season-high 23) shouldered much of the offensive load. Would one of the league’s most potent isolation scorers infringe on the Warriors’ free-flowing system? In the waning seconds...

Explain One Play: McCaw mashes the Mavericks

Explain One Play: McCaw mashes the Mavericks

Come for Patrick McCaw’s springy alley-oop dunk, stay for the fine defense in the Warriors-Mavericks March 21, 2017 game. Patrick McCaw has been maturing before our eyes. He’s still a rookie (a second-rounder, let’s remember every other team rejected him), with the hesitation anyone would have about taking shots away from four All-Stars. But he’s been stable on defense and getting more aggressive on offense. McCaw was in the middle of the run at the end of the second quarter that gave the Warriors a cushion they never gave up. Let’s look at three plays in that stretch. Q2.3:18....

Warriors’ Patrick McCaw leans on father’s advice during rookie season

Warriors’ Patrick McCaw leans on father’s advice during rookie season A week ago Sunday, in the wake of perhaps the worst game he has ever played, Warriors rookie Patrick McCaw called his father, Jeff. A longtime high school coach in the St. Louis area, Jeff McCaw offered his critiques before putting things in perspective. In 2014, when McCaw enrolled at UNLV, he was the least heralded recruit in a five-man freshman class ranked No. 4 nationally. To emerge as a potential draft-night steal with Golden State, he has impressed coaches with his grasp of basketball’s nuances. McCaw,...

The world is ending, and it’s Joe Lacob’s fault

The world is ending, and it’s Joe Lacob’s fault

By making the Warriors the league’s best team, has Joe Lacob doomed us all to a fiery death? The world is ending, and it’s Joe Lacob’s fault. But, not in the way you might think. Stay with me, we’ll get there. Here in Warriors-land, things are not so peachy. Things feel ... bad. Things feel like they did before Joe Lacob bought the team. Things are, actually, surprisingly comforting in how dysfunctional they feel. Looking at the Warriors’ starting five for the Spurs game, I felt an odd tinge of nostalgia. “Huh, would you look at that? Patrick McCaw, Shaun Livingston, Matt...

Warriors’ Damian Jones assigned to D-League

SAN ANTONIO — Warriors rookie center Damian Jones has been assigned to Golden State’s Development League affiliate in Santa Cruz. The initial plan when Jones was sent down to Santa Cruz on Feb. 24 was for him to stick around for the rest of the D-League regular season, which would have had him returning to the NBA club April 1 — in time for the Warriors’ final six regular-season games. Jones, 21, recorded four points and five rebounds in 21 minutes of Golden State’s 107-85 loss to the Spurs.
