Paul Millsap to miss next two games with left hip injury

Paul Millsap to miss next two games with left hip injury

The Hawks will be missing a giant piece on Friday on Saturday. Paul Millsap was absent from the proceedings on Wednesday evening in Phoenix and, well, things did not go particularly well for the Atlanta Hawks against the Suns. Unfortunately, the team will once again be without its best player on Friday evening, as Mike Budenholzer announced prior to the game against the Detroit Pistons that Millsap would miss his second straight contest. In addition, Millsap will not travel to Toronto on Saturday and will miss the game against the Raptors. Millsap’s absence has emerged from relative...

Utah Jazz at Minnesota Timberwolves: Five Things To Watch

Time to show who’s the real young contender 1. Can the Utah Jazz defense continue to play this well without Derrick Favors? The Utah Jazz held the Atlanta Hawks to 68 points on Friday with Boris Diaw and Trey Lyles playing the 4 position almost all night. That’s no small task considering they were guarding Paul Millsap. The truth is, they didn’t just guard the three time all star, they stifled (Rudy emoji needed) him to 11 points and 5 rebounds on 36% shooting. That’s impressive considering Millsap, as we all know, has the ability to shoot from deep, but also penetrate and score or...

Dwight Howard, Hawks overpower Pacers, win 96-85

Toward the end of the third quarter, Jeff Teague and Myles Turner were confused after a simple pick-and-roll play from the Hawks. Teague switched on the Paul Millsap, leaving Turner to guard the smaller and quicker Malcolm Delaney on the perimeter.

Paul Millsap, Dwight Howard lead Hawks over Pacers

Paul Millsap and Dwight Howard combine for 41 points and 31 rebounds as the Hawks defeat the Pacers 96-85. The Atlanta Hawks got their road trip off on a good note thanks to big performances from Paul Millsap and Dwight Howard in a 96-85 win over the Indiana Pacers. Millsap and Howard were the story in this one as they helped Atlanta to a 48-34 advantage in points in the paint. Howard set the tone early with 10 points and seven rebounds in the first quarter on his way to a 23 points, 20 rebound performance. Young scores 24, but Pacers fall 96-85 against Hawks

Thaddeus Young paced Indiana offensively scoring 24 points, but the Hawks dominated the boards in Atlanta's win. Even with Paul George and Myles Turner returning to the lineup, the Indiana Pacers (7-9) fell to the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday night, in a poor performance on the glass. George looked rusty early on, missing two easy layups under-the-basket, but Thaddeus Young led the way for Indiana in the first quarter scoring 11 points. The Pacers struggled to stop the dominant front-court for the Hawks, as Paul Millsap and Dwight Howard helped Atlanta get off to an early lead in the first...

Sixers struggle defensively against Hawks without Embiid

The Sixers endure a defensive meltdown, lose big to Atlanta Hawks without defensive ace Joel Embiid. Without Joel Embiid, due to his protocol of missing back-to-back games in the regular season, the Sixers (1-8) struggled defensively in a 117-96 loss Saturday to the Atlanta Hawks (7-2). While it appeared that Philadelphia would have to limit the impact of the Paul Millsap-Dwight Howard pairing down low, Atlanta’s horde of talent surprised. Tim Hardaway Jr. (20 points) Kent Bazemore (17) and former Sixer Kyle Korver (14) paced the home team in scoring. For the Sixers, Jahlil Okafor...
