Paul Millsap ranked as second-best player in the Eastern Conference this season

Paul Millsap is having a phenomenal year and the Sporting News shed some light on just how good he has been. Atlanta Hawks power forward Paul Millsap was selected to the Eastern Conference All-Star team and he was exceedingly deserving. Millsap has operated as Atlanta's best and most valuable player during the 2015-2016 season and, as we discussed prior to the selection deadline, an argument even exists that Millsap should have been voted in as an All-Star starter. However, Sean Deveney of the Sporting News took the Paul Millsap love to another level this week. Deveney released a...

Former Utah Jazz players Paul Millsap, Deron Williams, Wesley Matthews lead all former Jazzmen this season

There are 30 former Jazzman who have played at least one minute this season. Who is playing well? Who isn't? The Utah Jazz have had an exceptionally high volume of roster turn over over the last few seasons. A lot of us older Jazzfans were used to maybe one or two changes a year when the team was a title contender. Due to the vagaries of the 15 man roster, injuries, contract length dynamics, and personnel decisions -- there have been a lot of guys in and out of a Utah uniform recently. If you include draft picks (even those we don't keep), 10 day contracts, and summer league invites, there...

Hawks vs. Kings Final Score: Kings take advantage of Hawks lack of glass, win 91-88

Our Kingdom for a rebound. The Atlanta Hawks continued their west coast swing by following up their win in Portland with a tight loss in Sacramento, making the Kings the victors,  91-88 Thursday night. The Hawks had a last attempt, down two with 12.9 seconds to go, but Paul Millsap lost control of the ball and Omri Casspi stole it, ending the Hawks chance to tie. The last play was clearly broken, as Millsap was forced to make a move and create something as the rest of the Hawks looked as if some became disconnected, Millsap spun towards the hoop and the ball flew away into the waiting...

USA Basketball released its 30-player roster for 2016 and Paul Millsap is nowhere to be found

The folks at USA Basketball missed when omitting Paul Millsap from the 30-player roster for 2016. LaMarcus Aldridge. Harrison Barnes. Bradley Beal. DeMar DeRozan. Kenneth Faried. Rudy Gay. The five players listed above were all included when USA Basketball revealed its list of 30 finalists for the 2016 U.S. Olympic team on Monday. Not included on the roster? Paul Millsap. It must be stated that the organization at least attempts to take an appropriate mixture of players with regard to position, and as a result, players like Beal and DeRozan (or even Gordon Hayward, etc.) shouldn’t...

Paul Millsap: All-Star... starter?

Paul Millsap should already be a lock for the 2016 NBA All-Star Game, but a look at the numbers suggests he should be in the mix for a starting nod. When Paul Millsap signed a two-year, $19 million contract with the Atlanta Hawks prior to the 2013-2014 season, it was universally seen as a steal for the organization. In the same breath, the acquisition was viewed positively through the prism of attracting a very good, but not great, player at a very reasonable contract, rather than a move that would transform the roster due to Millsap’s individual ability. Fast-forward more than two years,...
