DC Sports Bog: Paul Pierce reminisces about his own personal March Madness heartbreak

Over Wizards forward Paul Pierce’s 17 years in the NBA, he’s suffered many tough losses — none more difficult to swallow, perhaps, than his Boston Celtics falling to the rival Los Angeles Lakers in Game 7 of the 2010 Finals. But apparently, all these years later, he’s still haunted by a much earlier memory — that of his Kansas Jayhawks losing to the Arizona Wildcats in the 1997 NCAA tournament.Read full article >>

Pierce is slumping, but hoping to shake it off by the time the playoff begin

Paul Pierce cracked a smile. He has spent nearly two decades in the NBA starring in the clutch, gutting foes with big shot after big shot after big shot, cementing himself as one of the premier clutch players of his generation. So of course he wants to play in the fourth quarter as the free-falling Washington Wizards jockey for playoff positioning and some semblance of positive momentum.Read full article >>

Pierce's absence in crunch time part of bigger issue?

The Wizards signed Paul Pierce expecting him to be the closer that they'd lacked last season in the playoffs, but he's looking like a shell of himself as his body breaks down.

Omri Casspi's a class act, gets doll for girl he was pushed into by Paul Pierce

Remember this ugly incident from an otherwise exciting blowout win over the Washington Wizards on Sunday? Well it looks like Omri Casspi went above and beyond following the game, inviting the little girl, whose name is Dillon, to the Kings Practice Facility to give her a doll and talk to her. From Kings.com: "I saw how frightened she was and I think everything was so overwhelming for her," he said following Tuesday's shootaround. As a result, Casspi decided that he needed to do something follow up with her for braving through what happened. He brought her to the Kings practice facility...

DC Sports Bog: Paul Pierce shoves a Kings opponent into a little girl

Paul Pierce probably didn’t mean to hurt a little girl seated near the court during Sunday’s blowout loss in Sacramento. But he clearly did mean to shove Kings forward Omri Casspi — and the fact that a poor tyke turned out to be collateral damage made the Wizard’s act look even worse.Read full article >>

John Wall and Paul Pierce pick the NCAA Tournament

John Wall went to Kentucky and Paul Pierce matriculated at Kansas so it shouldn't surprise anyone who the Wizards stars picked to cut down the nets, but they did make other interesting picks

Wizards vs. Kings final score: John Wall leads Washington to a big 113-97 comeback win

Just when you thought it was over, John Wall and Paul Pierce showed us that it isn't over until it's over. Wizards win WHAT A WIN! Just when I thought that this game was about to be an unacceptable blowout, the Wizards made a big run in the second half when they put the foot on the gas and never let go. Washington was down by as many as 21 points early in the third quarter. But they clamped down on defense, John Wall scored 15 points, and Paul Pierce added 12 more to turn that deficit around to an 85-84 game. Later on in the fourth quarter, the Wizards ultimately took the lead for the first...

Brooklyn Nets are in trouble, but still dangerous

What's up with the Nets this season? The Brooklyn Nets are not exactly having that championship season their owner Mikhail Prokhorov probably envisioned so many years ago. They reloaded with even more old guys in Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett last season and now both are gone. Markel Brown and Thaddeus Young aren't going to help them win the title this year, no matter how good Deron Williams and Joe Johnson are still capable of playing. New Jersey Brooklyn is 4-6 in their last 10 games, and are sitting in 11th in the East right now. They still want to make the playoffs, and yes they...
