Paul Pierce scores 13 in loss to Knicks - Paul Pierce (G/F) Brooklyn Nets

Paul Pierce played through his shoulder injury and had 13 points and three rebounds in 21 minutes on Tuesday.

Notes: Pierce tweaks shoulder

NEW YORK -- Brooklyn Nets coach Jason Kidd said he could have brought forward Paul Pierce back into Sunday night’s game if it had more meaning. Pierce suffered from right shoulder pain -- what looked like another stinger -- in the third quarter and did not return. He got knocked by Orlando Magic big man Kyle O'Quinn while driving to the basket. Pierce immediately looked in agony and went to the bench with trainer Tim Walsh. He did not go to the locker room, however, as he had in the past.

Paul Pierce becomes 18th player in NBA history to score 25,000 career points

BROOKLYN - Paul Pierce scored 13 points on Friday night against the Atlanta Hawks, surpassing the 25,000 career point mark, becoming the 18th player in NBA history to do so. He joins Dirk Nowitzki, Kobe Bryant and his teammate Kevin Garnett in hitting the 25,000 point milestone. Pierce is in his first season as a member of the Brooklyn Nets, having spent the last 15 seasons with the Boston Celtics, boasting a career scoring average of 21.3 points per game. Jason Kidd said of Pierce after Friday night's loss to the Hawks, "He's been big for us all year, being able to go from [small forward]...

Rapid Reaction: Hawks 93, Nets 88

NEW YORK -- The 25,000 career point club has it’s newest member: Paul Pierce. On Friday night, Pierce became the 18th player in NBA history to reach the 25,000-point plateau. Pierce finished with 13 points in the Nets’ 93-88 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night at Barclays Center. What it means: The Nets’ 15-game home winning streak came to an end. It was their first loss at home since Jan. 31. They seemed a bit disinterested most of the night.

Starting five: Could be big night for Truth

Paul Pierce has a chance to reach a major milestone against the Miami Heat and longtime rival LeBron James. Pierce needs 19 more points to reach 25,000 career points. Whenever he reaches that milestone, he will become the 18th player in NBA history to score 25,000 points and just the fourth active player to do so, joining teammate Kevin Garnett, Kobe Bryant and Dirk Nowitzki. Ian Eagle thinks Paul Pierce will be back ... but Kevin Garnett could retire

Boston's CLNS Radio hosts Larry H. Russell and Dr. Andre Snellings spoke this weekend with Ian Eagle about the NCAA's and other things, but also spoke with him about the future of Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. Eagle, who's as much a reporter as an announcer, said he can see two different fates for the Hall of Famers. He thinks Pierce will sign a two-year deal with the Nets in the off-season, but suggests Garnett could mull retirement at season's end. Asked by a Boston fan, did he think Pierce and Garnett would be Nets next season, Eagle replied... If you asked me that question six weeks...

Pierce: We could care less about Knicks

NEW YORK -- It didn’t take long for Paul Pierce to endear himself to Brooklyn Nets fans. All the long-time Boston Celtic had to do was reaffirm his hatred for the New York Knicks during the offseason and add that it was time for the Nets to start running the city. OK, so maybe that whole “running the city” thing hasn’t happened. But the Nets (40-33) did guarantee themselves the best regular-season record in New York on Tuesday night, when they beat the Houston Rockets to clinch a playoff spot.

Billy King: Livingston top priority but we want Pierce back, too

Billy King spoke Tuesday to Evan Roberts and Joe Benigno, and just as he did with the media last week, said Shaun Livingston is his top priority but wants Paul Pierce back as well. "Paul is somebody that we have an advantage on because we do have his Bird Rights," King said.  Because they have Pierce's Bird Rights, the Nets can offer Pierce any amount without considering cap space. Word is that Pierce, who's been playing well --and showing leadership, wants back.  How much money and how many years will be critical. King also hinted that the Nets need to look at alternatives to keep Brook...

Pierce presents problems at power forward

DALLAS -- It never helps to lose a veteran like Kevin Garnett, even with his struggles this season. Luckily, rookie Mason Plumlee and Paul Pierce have been able to step up in place of Garnett. The Nets have had to implement some different rotations with Garnett out of the mix for the last 11 games. Pierce has slid up to the 4 at times. While he doesn't come up with vintage scoring performances on a regular basis, he's clearly capable of providing a versatile option for his team.

Celtics Morning Joe: No emotions for this one against the Celtics for Pierce, as the Nets grow confident

Paul Pierce struggled against his old team. But Friday night in Brooklyn, Pierce scored 13 points, behind 6-of-10 shooting. He didn't have a huge scoring game, but his grip on this team had helped the Nets turn their season around. The League better watch out here we come— Paul Pierce (@paulpierce34) March 22, 2014CSNNE"We're clicking on all cylinders right now," Pierce said. "We're starting to reach our peak here at the right time at this point of the season with about a month left.
