Paul Pierce visited by 'Basketball After Life Ghost' in his room, according to Paul Pierce

File under "When #motivation gets weird" As summer draws to a close, NBA players are beginning to prepare for the start of a new season. Apparently, if you're Paul Pierce, this means being visited in the wee hours of the morning by a ghost: Woke up and saw the basketball after life ghost in my room this morn they tried to suck me n I said no deal headed to the gym for the 17 yr — Paul Pierce (@paulpierce34) August 13, 2014 So ...yeah. It still looks like Kevin Garnett will return for another season

It still looks like Kevin Garnett will return for another season

Kevin Garnett has one year remaining on his deal, along with 10 million reasons to return for another season. Kevin will enter the 2014-15 season without Paul Pierce at his side for the first time since 2007. As you guys know Paul signed a two-year deal with the Wizards in July. The odds of KG playing beyond next season are very slim. Maybe,he'll sign with the Celtics as a player coach in 2015-16? We can only dream. From Jared Zwerling of Bleacher Report:B/R: Staying in the frontcourt, what’s the latest with Kevin Garnett? Has he talked to you yet about returning?LH: No, I haven’t talked...

Mirza Teletovic has an opportunity to sustain last season's success

Mirza Teletovic has an opportunity to sustain last season's success

After an offseason that saw the Nets frontcourt change shape, Mirza Teletovic has a chance not only to sustain the success he found in Brooklyn last season, but to go even further. Steve Alexander of Rotoworld is in the group that believes Teletovic can make a big step this season, as he lists the "King of Bosnia" as one of his winners of this offseason. Mirza Teletovic,  F, Nets – With Paul Pierce no longer in Brooklyn and Kevin Garnett and Andrei Kirilenko playing in the bodies of old men, the time is now for Teletovic. The hope is that Teletovic will fly under the radar after...

When the Wizards acquired Paul Pierce, I thought the team solidified its roster without handicapping itself financially or restricting future options. The Wizards limited the fallout from losing Trevor Ariza, added a veteran who won’t be afraid to shoot in crunch time, and also injected some local and national buzz. These are all very good things.
