Dubbed a "Dinosaur" on the front page of the local Toronto paper because of his age, Pierce buried the Raptors in Game 1 of the opening round, scoring nine of his 15 points in the final three minutes of a wild 94-87 victory that started with a profane insult from Toronto's GM and ended with a broken shot clock.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- “That’s why they got me here!” Brooklyn Nets forward Paul Pierce yelled after draining a turnaround jumper in the final minute that gave his team a seven-point lead over the Toronto Raptors in Game 1 on Saturday afternoon. It was the final dagger Pierce stuck in the Raptors and their raucous fans late in the final period. Pierce ended up scoring nine straight points down the stretch, as Brooklyn beat Toronto 94-87 to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 first-round series.

Paul Pierce put the Nets on his back in the 4th quarter in game one. Pierce scored 9 of his 15 in the 4th. After the Nets win, a Raptors fan didn't care much about a free headband from Paul.
