Sessions could be shut down

CBSSports.com Fantasy — The Gaston Gazette reports that Bobcats guard Ramon Sessions could be shut down for the rest of the season. He has been out since March 8 with a knee injury. Said Charlotte coach Mike Dunlap on Sessions: “He’s doing more and more, but I think it’s going to be a bit longer before we decide. We’re not going to do anything that would jeopardize him.”

Pargo staying with the Bobcats

CBSSports.com Fantasy — The Charlotte Observer reports that the Bobcats will sign veteran point guard Jannero Pargo for the rest of the season. Pargo was signed to two 10-day contracts as a fill-in for injured backup Ramon Sessions. Sessions is still out with a sprained knee and Pargo has performed well behind starter Kemba Walker. With Pargo's second 10-day about to expire, the Bobcats had to sign him for the rest of the season or lose him under NBA rules.

Rufus on Fire — Rick Bonnell reports the Bobcats will sign veteran point guard Jannero Pargo to a 10-day contract in the wake of Ramon Sessions' strained MCL, per a source. Pargo has played for six teams previously: the Lakers, Raptors, Bulls, Hornets, Bulls (twice), Hawks (twice) and most recently, the Wizards. Charlotte has found themselves with a need for point guard help after Sessions went down against Brooklyn last week. Williams seeing run at the point

CBSSports.com Fantasy — With Ramon Sessions expected to miss the next 2 to 4 weeks, Bobcats guard Reggie Williams is expected to see some run as the team's backup point guard. Williams has only appeared in 10 of Charlotte's last 32 games, but is now expected to see around 10-15 minutes a game behind Kemba Walker. “Right now, me coming in and running the offense is more important than me scoring, particularly if I’m on the court with Ben Gordon, the second unit’s primary scorer,” Williams told the Charlotte Observer. “Get him going, get him in his rhythm.”

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Bobcats guard Ramon Sessions has been diagnosed with a sprain MCL and is expected to miss two to four weeks of action, according to the Associated Press Thursday. Sessions appeared to have sustained the injury Wednesday night against the Nets and will not require surgery.

An MRI this morning on Sessions' knees showed that there was no tear in the meniscus or the ligament, vice president of communications B.J. Evans said. He will not require surgery. It comes at a very inopportune time for Charlotte. The team is on an eight-game losing streak, averaging a margin of defeat of 22 points.
