Randy Foye buys New Jersey home from Bruce Springsteen for $1.7 million

Randy Foye signed a one-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday and didn't hesitate to find himself a home. The Newark, New Jersey native bought a house in Rumson, New Jersey -€” not Brooklyn or Manhattan -€” but New Jersey from the famed rock n roll artist, Bruce Springsteen. The house in Monmouth County was sold to Foye for $1.7 million. Interesting enough, Monmouth County records show Foye and Springsteen's trustees signed a contract to purchase the home in February. Does that indicate Foye's desire to return home? He came to the Nets for a somewhat discounted price. Foye,...

What the Anthony Bennett signing says about the new Nets

We don't have high expectations for Anthony Bennett, what with his history, but the way the Nets came to sign the former overall No. 1 pick suggests Brooklyn's front office operates far differently than it has in the past. The process of scouting him, working him out and finally signing him showed a level of patience and professionalism --not to mention attention to detail-- that is encouraging for the way things can work. It apparently started a year ago, in the Palacio de los Deportes, the indoor arena in Mexico City that hosted the FIBA Americas tournament.  On September 9, Team Canada,...

Brooklyn Nets sign Caris LeVert, Randy Foye to deals

The Brooklyn Nets have signed guard/forward Caris LeVert and combo guard Randy Foye, bringing to 14 the number of players the Nets have given guaranteed deals. The signings, on Thursday and Friday, leave only Joe Harris, unsigned. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not released, but according to reports, LeVert signed a four-year rookie contract valued at $7.7 million and Foye a veterans minimum contract valued at a little more than $1.5 million. Both are expected to see time at the point and shooting guard. Selected with the 20th pick in the first round of the 2016 NBA Draft,...

Randy Foye Signs with Brooklyn Nets

Oh well. Well, the less than half season rental of Randy Foye has come to a close. Foye was an expiring deal, and went into Free Agency over the Summer. So Foye has just taken a one year deal with the Brooklyn Nets, per Woj. Was taking Randy Foye mid-season worth it? It's not like the Thunder really needed D.J. Augustin. What the Thunder really needed was a combo guard who could provide some measure of everything. No one on OKC's bench could be consistently effective. Payne was too young. Heustis was too raw. Singler was too unathletic. Morrow was too small. And Waiters was too...

And then there were 15. Minutes after Mike Scotto and Shams Charania reported on the Nets agreement with Anthony Bennett, Adrian Wojnarowski reported the Nets and journeyman guard Randy Foye have a deal. Free agent guard Randy Foye has agreed on a one-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets, league sources tell @TheVertical. — Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojVerticalNBA) July 14, 2016 Foye, a native of Newark, has played for seven teams in his NBA career after being drafted out of Villanova in 2006 with the No. 7 pick. Last year, Foye, a 6'3" combo guard, played 81 games for the Nuggets and Thunder,...

D.J. Augustin reaches agreement with the Orlando Magic

After being acquired in a midseason trade for Randy Foye, D.J. Augustin has moved on to play point guard for the Orlando Magic. Thanks for some good games in the second half of the season. The Denver Nuggets were struggling with their point guard play throughout the first half of the 2015-16 NBA season. Emmanuel Mudiay was astoundingly bad, even for a rookie, Jameer Nelson started out fine but showed his age as the year went on, and Randy Foye did as well as anyone could expect. Then the D.J. Augustin trade was made, and everything started getting better, Augustin was wallowing on the bench...
