CelticsBlog Courtney Lee was supposed to be a pretty big offseason acquisition. When We didn't get Ray Allen back, he was the younger, more athletic replacement that would help us bridge the gap to the future. He might yet be that in the coming years, but right now he's not doing so well. In fact, he's fallen right out of Doc's playoff rotation. He went from just 20 minutes in game 1, to sitting on the bench until garbage time in game 2. In his place, Jordan Crawford has been gaining minutes and apparently Doc's confidence. Doc puts faith in Crawford - Boston Celtics Blog - ESPN Boston Rivers...

Miami Heat April 24, 2013Heat Zone | Palm Beach Post So why was Ray Allen wearing high socks in Game 1 against Milwaukee, after a season in which the stimulation pads on his calves were visible? “The shoes that I’m wearing, they’re higher,” Allen said. “I guess I got a reminder or a little note from the higher-ups that I need to have my socks above my boots, so I had to wear higher socks. But tonight I’m going to try to wear a little lower.” Presumably, the NBA wants its logo to be visible. The socks didn’t appear to bother him; he scored 20 in Game 1. “It didn’t feel any different for me,” Allen said.

Miami Herald Ray Allen tossed the ball toward the rim and, with one flap of Birdman’s colorful wings, the arena soared, flapping in unison. It was a flock of bleach-white sea birds led by that one rare and always-rising phoenix everyone has so quickly come to love.
Miami Heat April 22, 2013Heat Zone | Palm Beach Post In what represented a bit of a surprise — if only because of some of the innuendo coming out of Heat headquarters — Udonis Haslem will get the start in Game 1 of the 2013 playoffs. That makes it likely that Erik Spoelstra will stay with something close to the rotation during the 27-game streak: Battier, Chris Andersen, Ray Allen and Norris Cole off the bench. And that would mean few, if any, minutes for Mike Miller or Rashard Lewis. But, again, that could change as the series plays out.

Miami Heat April 17, 2013Heat Zone | Palm Beach Post Golden State guard Stephen Curry entered the season finale needing two 3-pointers to break Ray Allen’s record for a season, set when Allen was a SuperSonic in 2005-06. This circumstance did not surprise Allen. “He had a hell of a season,” Allen said. “Somebody asked me a year or two ago, and I said he was one of the guys that had the potential of having the 3-point record in a season or in a career. Because he reminds me of myself when I was in Seattle. Bringing the ball up the floor, playing the open system, getting the ball in the air. And he’s had some big nights.
