NetsDaily Off-Season Report - No. 19

@JGakobe13  Every weekend, we’ll be updating the Nets’ off-season with bits and pieces of information, gossip, etc. to help fans get ready for the giddiness of next season. Tough Times With Wilson Chandler being suspended for a third of the season (25 games) and, worse, Rodions Kurucs being arrested, handcuffed and arraigned on domestic assault charges, this has not been a good week for your Btooklyn Nets. The off-season, which been, in Frank Isola’s words, “once-in-a-lifetime” was tarnished ... at least. A lot of questions remain unresolved about the arrest and at this...

Will Nets’ sudden roster woes lead them to sign Carmelo Anthony or Joe Johnson?

Photo by Jim McIsaac/ In six days, the Nets’ crazy summer suddenly turned very real. Brooklyn Nets: Team Culture not to blame for recent players woes

Despite contrary belief, the Brooklyn Nets’ culture is not to blame for recent troubles. Wilson Chandler, recently suspended 25 games for violating the NBA’s substance abuse policy, and Rodions Kurucs‘ more recent legal troubles are not a product of a declining Nets team culture. It’s foolish to blame the Net’s culture for the recent woes […] Brooklyn Nets: Team Culture not to blame for recent players woes - Nothin But Nets - Nothin But Nets - A Brooklyn Nets Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports Michael McCann, Sports Illustrated’s sports law expert, writes Wednesday that Rodions Kurucs lawyer believes the domestic assault charges against his client are “bogus” and that he will attempt to have them dismissed to avoid a myriad of implications that would follow any guilty plea or verdict. Early indications suggest that Kurucs doesn’t intend to cut a plea deal but rather seek dismissal of the charges. Waiting for KD: Prospects at the 4

Waiting for KD: Prospects at the 4

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports The loudest, most common, and, truthfully, most justified complaint about the 2018-19 Brooklyn Nets roster was the glaring, sometimes downright offensive lack of a stretch 4. Kenny Atkinson’s offense is one set up to work best with pace, space, and versatile players. Despite performing admirably, the team had a set ceiling when trotting out Rodions Kurucs, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Treveon Graham, Jared Dudley, and DeMarre Carroll to fit them into the stretch 4 mold. What did the Nets do to address this issue? They went out and signed maybe the most ...
