New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony (sore left knee) and guard Derrick Rose (sore right foot) are all listed as questionable in the game notes for Saturday's matchup vs. the San Antonio Spurs. What It Means: Anthony sat out Thursday which was believed to be just for rest but he is on the injury report and may not play. If Rose is out, Ron Baker will likely get another start and if Anthony does not play, Kristaps Porzingis will be very busy in a tough matchup. Check back for another update closer to tipoff. If Anthony does play, our models project him for 21.5 points, 5.8...

New York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose underwent X-rays on his left foot after Wednesday's loss to the Utah Jazz, and they came back negative. What It Means: Rose did return to the game after suffering the injury, but it's still encouraging news that the X-rays came back negative. The Knicks have no incentive to rush him back to the court, being well out of playoff contention, and if he misses any time then look for Ron Baker to see his role increase, while Chasson Randle would also stand to see an up-tick in minutes. Rose has averaged 17.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.4...

Trail Blazers 110, Knicks 95: Scenes from a youthful loss

Trail Blazers 110, Knicks 95: Scenes from a youthful loss

Lots of rookies, lots of missed jumpers. The New York Knicks’ young bench has often kept games close after the starting lineup has crapped all over the court at the outset. What Thursday’s matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers presupposed is...what if the youngsters were starting? With Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose and Lance Thomas all on the shelf with various injuries, Jeff Hornacek with three rookies in the starting lineup: Ron Baker, Mindaugas Kuzminskas and Will Hernangomez. As if to show their veteran mentors all the valuable lessons they’ve learned this past season, the young...

This Week in Knicks Social Media: Madness Marches On

This Week in Knicks Social Media: Madness Marches On

College Hoops, Euro Groups and other team doings Hello my darling chickadees waiting for spring. Fear not, some day it will come. But not yet! Now we are embroiled in the madness that is March, and like the cosmic yo-yo that is this weather, our Knickerbockers are buffeted on the shoals of life. Also, they root for their almas mater in the NCAA Tournament. Ron Baker doesn’t “produce a lot of original content,” as we say in the social media biz, but when he does it’s all about Kansas pride. I want my state(KS) to get these wins tonight! Let's go!! @KUAthletics @GoShockers...

Clippers 114, Knicks 105: Scenes from an enjoyable garbage time

Clippers 114, Knicks 105: Scenes from an enjoyable garbage time

Let’s all go to sleep now. Knicks play, Knicks lose. That’s it. The ‘Bockers held the Los Angeles to a decent (for them) 10-point advantage at halftime, and then got absolutely destroyed in the third quarter. It was so bad, you guys. I’m not even gonna bother looking up the third-quarter score because it’s late as shit — both on the clock and in the season. Just trust me. The Knicks fake-comebacked hard in the fourth. Ron Baker looked pretty good in garbage time and Kristaps Porzingis got some buckets. Those are good things. They actually completed a lob to Kristaps for maybe...

Game Thread: Knicks at Nets- 03/12/17

Giving ends to my friends, and it feels stupendous. The New York Knicks will take on the Brooklyn Nets in a game that is going to take place between two professional basketball teams. Technically. It’s Biggie Night at Barclays Center. I must insist the Knicks play Chasson Randle, Ron Baker, Mindaugas Kuzminskas (or Justin Holiday), Willy Hernangomez and Kristaps Porzingis together and call them Junior M.A.F.I.A. Game is at 6:00 PM on on MSG. This is NetsDaily. No trolling them, please. Please don’t post large photos, GIFs, or links to illegal streams in this thread. Be nice to one...

Ron Baker starting in place of Carmelo Anthony for the Knicks on Monday

New York Knicks guard Ron Baker will move into the starting lineup for Monday's matchup with the Orlando Magic. What It Means: Carmelo Anthony is sitting out with knee soreness, so the Knicks will go with a slightly smaller lineup versus the Magic. Baker has started three games before and only played 17.7 minutes with 4.7 points per game. Baker is averaging 3.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 12.2 minutes per game this season. Wassup in Westchester: Ron Baker showed off his point guard skills

Wassup in Westchester: Ron Baker showed off his point guard skills

Point Ron. The Westchester Knicks split their weekend back-to-back, losing Saturday to the Greensboro Swarm and defeating the Erie BayHawks Sunday afternoon. For the purposes of this article we are going to ignore Saturday’s game and focus on Sunday, a win featuring some nifty point-guarding by Ron Baker — a.k.a. the best thing to come out of Kansas since Superman. Yung Ron finished with 16 points on 5-8 shooting, 3 steals, 1 block and 8 assists, several of which came off some legitimately sweet dishes. Observe! Ron did turn the ball over 4 times, but generally he did a fine job of...
